PlotDrama series follows the turbulent life of Jang Ok-Jung, who is also known as Lady Jang Hui-Bin one of the most famous royal concubines in the Joseon Dynasty. She began her career as a court lady who stitched clothing as a fashion designer of her time. Notes- "Jang Ok-Jung, Live for Love" takes over the SBS Monday & Tuesday 21:55 time slot previously occupied by "King of Ambition".
- Based on the novel "Jang Ok-Jung, Live for Love" by Choi Jung-Mi (published December 5, 2008 by Eureka M&B).
- Filming began in early March, 2013 at the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace in Suwon, South Korea. First scene filmed involved actor Chae Sang-Woo as King Sookjong, jumping over a wall and out of the royal palace.
- Early Korean title was "Jang Ok-Jung, Sarange Salda" (literally "Jang Ok-Jung, Live for Love").

Several stars gathered to practice their script for an upcoming drama.
The first screenplay reading began for SBS’s upcoming drama “Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love” and included stars: Kim Tae Hee, Yoo Ah In, Jae Hee, Lee Sang Yeob and Han Seung Yeon as the leading characters. Other supporting actors and actresses in the cast that came to the meeting included Yang Mi Kyung, Yoon Yoo Sun, Lee Hyo Jung and Kim Seo Ra.
The script reading started in a harmonious atmosphere and it seemed like an actual scene. All of the actors and actresses were in sync with one another. Kim Tae Hee, who plays the lead character Jang Ok Jung, and Yoo Ah In, playing King Sukjong, amazed everyone with their acting skills because they were in character. In addition, Kim Tae Hee and Yoo Ah In emerged as a visually attractive couple.
The drama shows how Jang Ok Jung becomes the first fashion designer in the Joseon Dynasty instead of a political figure. In this drama, Jang Ok Jung’s character is an artist and someone’s lover. |
