WASHINGTON – Seorang bayi berusia setahun maut selepas dia ditinggalkan di dalam sebuah kereta yang diletakkan di luar hospital selama sembilan jam.
CNN melaporkan kejadian yang berlaku di Washington, Amerika Syarikat (AS) tersebut menyaksikan ibu angkat mangsa tiba di hospital itu untuk bekerja pada pukul 8 pagi (waktu tempatan) Rabu lalu dan tidak menyedari dia meninggalkan kanak-kanak itu, sehingga dia pulang pada pukul 5 petang (waktu tempatan).

Pegawai maklumat awam Jabatan Polis Puyallup, Don Bourbon berkata, “Bayi tersebut dikejarkan ke hospital tetapi tidak sedarkan diri."
Suhu persekitaran pada hari kejadian di bandar Puyallup yang terletak di tenggara Tacoma adalah antara 21 hingga 23.9 darjah Celsius tetapi suhu di dalam kereta adalah sekitar 43.3 darjah Celsius, kata polis.
