14-year-old girl missing since last November

SIBU: Fourteen-year-old Tini Silai (MyKad: 960926-13-6226) of Rh Bau, Balingian, was reported missing by her mother yesterday at 10.17am after she had failed to return home since Nov 13, 2009. The housewife, Enchalenga Lumpoh, 46, said she received a tip-off that two Indonesian men, including Tini’s boyfriend and Tini, went missing from the palm oil estate. The couple was said to have arrived in Indonesia a week after they left their workplace. “Tini was believed to have run away with the Indonesian boyfriend to his country,” Enchalenga said. She was told that the couple got married three days after they reached Indonesia. “After the marriage, Tini changed her name to Siti Fatimah. She has had two miscarriages,” said the sobbing Enchalenga as she told newsmen she hoped Tini would come home. Enchalenga also said she had pawned her gold jewellery and sent money to Tini through an Indonesian man who she trusted. The mother said she had sent money to her daughter four times and they amounted to RM3,000. Enchalenga was told that Tini’s husband, Shabudin, in his 20s, was working at a sawmill  in Lombok Barat, Indonesia. She said Tini had told her she was in Lombok Barat and had pleaded for help to get her home, as she was not happy with Shabudin’s bad nature. According to Tini’s sister, Tini did not continue her school after primary six and worked in an oil palm estate. The 22-year-old sister said it was at the estate that Tini acquainted the Indonesian man who was to become her husband. A police report was first lodged by Enchalenga in Balingian. Later, she and her husband, Silai, 50, and the 22-year-old daughter came to Sibu Central Police Station (CPS) to lodge another report. Enchalenga also pleaded to the public who might know Tini’s whereabouts to contact her on 019-828 6154 or the nearest police station.
