WoooohOooo US Open is back......

Draw

http://www.usopen.org/en_US/scores/draws/index.html?promo=topnav

Singles Men...

Federer  (1) dapat Djoker
Murray (2) dapat Nadal

Highlight Top Half

World No. 1 Roger Federer hasn't lost a match at the U.S. Open sincethe fourth round in 2003. Federer comes to New York with momentum afterhe dismantled Novak Djokovic in Cincinnati, winning the Masters Seriesevent to claim his first hard-court title this year. Federer recentlybecame a father and seems content both on and off the court. All thekarma seems to be in his favor.
The Swiss star has astraight-forward road to the semifinals. If the seedings hold, Federerwill take on eighth-seeded Nikolay Davydenko in the quarterfinals. Itwill be intriguing to see who might be waiting for Federer in thesemifinals. Andy Roddick has been bothered by a hip injury, but thetop-ranked American reached the finals in Washington D.C. earlier thismonth.
Roddick could take on Djokovic in the quarterfinals, renewing their heated rivalry. Look for Roddick to defeat the Serbianto earn a chance at redemption against Federer in the semifinals aftertheir unforgettable singles final at Wimbledon.
American tennisfans will be tracking James Blake and Sam Querrey in this half of thedraw. Blake has battled injuries and inconsistency this year, but theNew Yorker always seems energized by the crowds at the Billie Jean KingNational Tennis Center. Querrey posted a quality win over Roddick inCincinnati and another over Davydenko on Thursday in New Haven, and hehopes to build on his impressive run to the fourth round at the Openlast year.

Highlight Bottom Half

Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin del Potro — the bottom half of the men's draw is loaded with talent.
WhenMurray moved ahead of Nadal in the rankings, the shift allowed Murrayto claim the No. 2 seed at the Open. Murray lost to Federer in the U.S.Open final last year and seems poised to return to the championshipmatch this year.
While Murray was defeated by Federer in thesemifinals in Cincinnati, the Scot was victorious at the Masters Seriesevent in Montreal and has been dominant on hard courts this year.Murray faces a challenging opening-round assignment against ErnestsGulbis but should dispatch the Latvian.
Nadal will have toovercome several obstacles to reach his first U.S. Open final. TheSpaniard has a difficult first-round opponent in Richard Gasquet, whohas returned to tennis after making headlines that seem better suitedfor a gossip column than the sports page.
Nadal could alsocontend with mercurial players like Fernando Gonzalez and Jo-WilfriedTsonga in his portion of the draw. Nadal must also hope that his ailingknees don't betray him in New York. Rafa won five of the seven matcheshe played in the U.S. Open Series coming back from his battle with kneetendonitis, but he did not play his best tennis.
The largesttest for both Murray and Nadal could be Juan Martin del Potro. If theseedings hold, the Argentine will take on Murray in the quarterfinalswith the winner of that match potentially facing Nadal in thesemifinals.

Murray and Del Potro have developed an intense rivalry on the ATPTour. Del Potro lost to Murray in the finals in Montreal and will belooking for payback at the Open. Del Potro has all the physical skillsto make an impact in New York, but will need to display more mentaltoughness if he hopes to make a statement at the final Grand Slamtournament of the year.

1st round match agak heavy utk Djoker, Murray dan nadal. Murray vs Gulbis, Nadal vc Gasquet dan Djoker vs Ljubicic...

Woman Single's US Open

Women's draw — top half
Will Dinara Safina suffer anotherGrand Slam meltdown? The Russian has earned the moniker of being thebest player on the WTA Tour who has never won a Grand Slam title. Theworld No. 1 has reached three Grand Slam finals but failed to win a setin any of those matches. Her emotional collapse against SvetlanaKuznetsova at Roland Garros was difficult to watch.
But whileSafina has a tendency to unravel on the biggest stages of the sport, her stellar abilities on the court are undeniable. The Russian has apair of talented Serbians looming in her section of the draw: AnaIvanovic and Jelena Jankovic. Jankovic has emerged as the moreformidable player this year, but Safina should be able to advance tothe semifinals.
There are a pair of former U.S. Open championsthat might take on Safina in the semifinals. Kuznetsova won her firstGrand Slam singles title in New York in 2004 and is seeded sixth thisyear. Maria Sharapova may be the most dangerous No. 29 seed the U.S.Open has ever produced. The 2006 U.S. Open winner has been slowed by ashoulder injury this year but was able to bounce back to reach thefinal at the Rogers Cup in Toronto. Sharapova lost to Elena Dementievain that match, another dangerous Russian who is lurking in this sectionof the draw.
If you're looking for a player not seeded in the topfive that has a chance to reach the semifinals, ninth-seeded CarolineWozniacki continues to impress. The 19-year-old from Denmark has enoughpower to hang in there with the big hitters and could be ready to makea splash at the U.S. Open.

Women's draw — bottom half

Serena Williams hassaid it best. While the rankings may have Safina in the top spot, there's little doubt who is the top player in women's tennis.
Thecompelling question in this half of the draw centers on whether VenusWilliams can raise her play enough to meet her sister in thesemifinals. Venus did not play well during the second half of the U.S.Open Series, but she is the beneficiary of contending in a portion ofthe draw that lacks many marquee names.
Eighth-seeded VictoriaAzarenka could be Venus' biggest test. Azarenka defeated SerenaWilliams earlier this year in Miami. The Belarusian has outstandingabilities but is still looking for more consistency in her game.
Thesentimental favorite at the U.S. Open will be Kim Clijsters, who isalso in this section of the draw. The 2005 U.S. Open champion has madea stirring comeback to professional tennis. Based on her performancesin Cincinnati and Toronto, the former world No. 1 could provide a toughchallenge for Venus in the fourth round.

Nadal menang, so semua orang tak payah tenguk, sebab aku dah bagi result. Final Nadal akan jumpa Djokovic. Federer kalah kat Quaterfinal dan Andy Murray kalah 1st round dengan Gulbis.

Jgn takut, Gulbis akan menonggekkan Murray pada set pertama sebelum fade away in the following set. So typical of Gulbis. Tapi takpa, aku masih harap Gulbis menonggekkan Murray walaupun dia akan buat unforce error in the region of 56.

Match highlight aku utk 1st round confirm2 la Nadal lwn Gasquest..good to see gasquet dah kembali ke gelanggang sebab isu kokain, kesian betul mamat ni kena sabatoj..
yg ke2,match btw Murray lwn Gulbis..walaupun ramai berpendpt Murray bleh menang match ni tp aku hrp la kalau Gulbis bleh kasi fight ckit..
match ke3,Djokovic lwn Ljubicic..agak menarik gak, maan tau bleh ada ada upset kat cni..
match ke4,otai lwn super otai..yg aku maksudkan ni Juan Carlos Ferero lwn Fabrice Santoro..
seterusnya,1st rnd match yg agak best bagi aku ialah Jurgen Melzer vs Marat Safin..sbb match terakhir Safin kat US Open b4 dia retired..walau Safin tak akan jd threat utk US Open kali, but still interesting to watch him in the court..
satu lg match 1st round yg best ialah Juan Martin Del Potro lwn dgn Juan Monaco yg aku anggap sbg battle of Argentinean!!

Kesimpulannya,Federer mempunyai draw yg agak selesa utk 1st round..kalau mencabar ckit pun maybe in the 3rd round yg mana dia akan jumpa dgn Hewitt, another US Open former champion.

Yg akan jd threat utk US Open kali ni confirm2 la Kim Clijsters !  :pompom:

Stosur tu bad luck la dia jumpa Sugiyama. Memang Sugiyama dah tak power, tapi dia experienced player dan top double. Masa jugak Stosur nak menang.

Somdev x-NCAA champion dari India, juga layak kepusingan seterusnya.
