The director of the film, Prof. Dr. Hatta Azad Khan, is the dean of FACT. That抯 not to say that he earned the directing job by way of that title. The script, which he wrote, is a national winner at a National Film Body抯 (FINAS) script competition; he has also directed movies in the past. In recent times, he has concentrated more on theatre fare,being at the helm of Istana Budaya before joining UiTM. He would know how many performing arts beans in a row made five.

Shadow Play - A synopsis of 慦ayang抂/b]
The story follows Awang Lah (Eman Manan), a shadow play tok dalang (master puppeteer) idolised by a young, blind orphan, Awi. His enthusiasm for wayang kulit is infectious, and Awang Lah and his wife (Ida Nerina) adopt him. Soon after, they adopt a girl, Melor, after the death of her grandmother. All this while, Awang Lah抯 brother, Jusoh (Wan Kenari), does not like Awang Lah抯 activities, considering wayang kulit to be against Islam. As Awi (Zul Huzaimy) and Melor (Mas Muharni) grow up together, they begin to fall in love for each other. Jusoh eventually becomes jealous of this as well, and he strives to drive them apart. As the family drama unfolds, Awang Lah continues to perform wayang kulit shows, the stabilising influence in their lives.

apa yg bulih aku katakan filem ini yg TERBAIK so far bg aku utk 2008!!!:pompom:

pd pndpt aku, inilah filem lakonan Zulhuzaimy yg paling superb!.. Eman Manan mmg kaw2.. Ida Nerina spt biasa mmg vast da baboom!.. and watch out diva2 pilem seantero malaya coz student UiTM yg bakal meletup iaitu Mas Muharni yg akn pegi jauh punyer!!!.. akhir skali, penyangak 2008 - Wan Kenari..
99% filem ini dlm bahasa melayu dialek kelantan..

p/s: filem ini baru betul2 karya seorang yg bertitle 'Professor'.. ops! ..kudos to Prof. Dr. Hatta Azad Khan:pompom: :pompom: :pompom:

fyi memula nk pegi tgk dlm keta td pong aku hengat musti pilem neh ala2 pilem indie berseni yg heavy  bagai.. yesssza mg agak 'berseni tradisional' ala2 visit Msia year punyer pilem.. but surprise2... pilem neh pong ada nilai komersiol & seswai utk mainstream!!! :pompom: .. ala2 drama berat seni + chenta remaja unik taw! :pompom:

ko giler nnti habang kna saman? tabley ltak 'tanda-air' coz suma pics kepunyaan UiTM/WAYANG! so suma utk 'perkongsian umum' & disarankn utk disebarkn secara pukal & besar2an seantero cakrawala utk tujuan promosi tau!

p/s: yeszaa! pilem neh guna bahse dialek kelantan hampir 99% coz citer psl wayang kulit ofkoslah kena back to origin dia kan?.. btw, ada subtitle inggeris & rasanya tader masalah nak paham naratifnya coz yg ptg ialah storyline yg best kebaboom!!! [ayat2 sebegini juga ya-amats disarankn utk tujuan promosi & sgt digalaknutk disebarkn secara pukal   ]
