Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to inform you about it's initiative in combating spam in its Internet Protocol (IP) network to improve our quality of service.

Recently, many anti-spams, organizations have blacklisted a large number of IP addresses from TM's network. Due to this many customers have been unable to send emails from their mail server to companies, which are using databases from the abovementioned anti-spam organizations.

These spamming activities by a small group have affected a large number of our customers, regardless of the nature of their usage.

Therefore, TM is taking immediate action to address this issue where effective 07 May 2008, TM will continue to block OUTBOUND Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) traffic or port 25 for all outgoing e-mails from dynamic IP addresses. Only Outbound SMTP traffic from smtp.streamyx.com and smtp.tm.net.my will be permitted. This exercise will be done at southern area before being implemented nationwide.

With this exercise, Streamyx customers with dynamic IP addresses, who have their own mail server, will not be able to send out-going e-mails. As an alternative, TM will be providing customers with two options Customers may choose to relay their server to our SMTP or use port 587 for any outgoing e-mails. 1- nyusahkan org, nak kena re-setting email outlook. customer aku kat kL dah bising tanya aku: bila nk balik kL? (paham2 je la)

agak2 alasan tmnet nk forward smtp melalui server smtp diorang ni untuk bendung kegiatan spam, relevan ke?

2- guna smtp tmnet, abih la suma email masuk server tmnet dulu...? tmnet nk jadi spy kot... :re:

1. xde bende yg senang dlm dunia ni.. terkadang makan pun susah kn? ehehe
2. ok, x semestinya kita mesti guna smtp tmnet, jika anda guna domain sendiri dan host sendiri, mintaklah hoster setkan 1 port lain (selain 25) sebagai Smtp.. ataupun, jika anda sendiri kawal mail server 100%, ubah port anda..

- ambil setiap perubahan situasi ini sebagai positif dan peluang anda untuk meningkatkan lagi kemahiran dan ilmu..

kalau ada maklumat penting, boleh encrypt email tu dan send,
penerima pulak akan decrypt balik untuk baca..

so, email yg kita hantar tu confirm xde sape bleh bukak walau lalu server tmnet.

- setiap permasalahan insyaAllah ada penyelesaian.. berbezanya cara, keberkesanan dsb..

saye sendiri pun xde la tau sgt bende2 ni, tanya yg pakar2 la jika kita nk selesaikan..
mana yg termampu je la kita buat..

mmg jahanam la... dah 2 hari tkleh send email.
hosting kompeni plak dok delay... mmg nyusahkan tak abis laa...

aku harap tmserver pulak yg spread spam. biar kena blacklist dgn server international.

Ko guna settings ni utk smtp ko kat email client:

Server name: smtp-proxy.tm.net.my
Port 25
No authentification

Aku guna ni now. Works like a dream.

takpe, aku dah mintak hosting bukak port 26 dan hosting lagi satu dah bukak port 587 (maybe they respond to tmnet notice)

kebanyakan ISP di luar negara dah tutup port 25 ni sebagai langkah menghalang SPAM.
aku rasa TMnet antara ISP yang baru terhegeh2 nak tutup port 25 ni..
