act to protect pets in malaysia

i'm doing a report on license for pet for my assignment..so,do we have act that protects specifically pets in malaysia?like in the us n uk they have animal welfare act..can u guys animal lovers help me out?thank u!

p/s:any cases and comments will do

i don't think malaysia has specific acts which protect pet animals but there is an animal cruelty act. several ngo's have been lobbying the government to revise the act where the penalty is currently at RM200 maximum fine.

i personally feel that this RM200 is puny considering the abuse that has been done to the suffering animals!!! the maximum fine should be about RM2000 and jail term!

akta hidupan liar & if I'm not mistaken ada jugak beberapa peruntukkan bawah

penal code yang protect haiwan2 ternakan nih

penalty untuk haiwan liar dan endangered species lagi byk (RM 1000) compared to domesticated animals...
