Wives of Prophet Muhammad

How many wives did "prophet" Muhammad really had? :hmm:
No tipu2 please.

Most of the muslims ladies that i asked, says that Muhammad had only 4wives. They act supprised when i say that Muhammad had at least 9 wives? Some say that i am lying till i show them some verse from hadiths Bukhari.

At first I thought, muslims were taught about Muhammad life story. But now, i am not sure.

Does anyone know exactly how many wives Muhammad had in his live-time? Anyone?

This lengthy monogamous marriage spanning most of his marital life took place when polygamy was socially accepted and widely practiced and before any Qur'anic revelation restricting such a practice and limiting the number of wives to a maximum of four.

Darsita you missed out wife#2 Saudah... and wife#7 Zainab... ( there was 2 Zainabs)

Khatijah and Zainab( wife#5) passed away during Muhammads life time. This much i know... but is there anymore wives left out?

Mo introduced and stituted the rape of war captives. This is still being practiced by Muslims in Indonesia, Kasmir, Sudan, Chechnya and Turkey or wherever Muslims happen to wage war. Mo gave specific instructions on this and must have taken sex slaves in the course of the many invasions he undertook. He justified it as the punishment of allah against infidels and had to practice what he preached. Two of such sex slaves were Miriam and Safiyah.

Muhammad had one more wife by the name Umm Salamah a.k.a Hind bint Abi Umayya ibn al-Mughira. I think she was wife#6.

If the holy prophet was as notorious and as ill-mannered as some of the morons here tries very very hard to depict, then he would not have been respected, honored, loved and followed by billions all over the world, starting from those who were his kins and closest to him who knew him very well.

The religion of God was entrusted upon him because he was fully trusted ~ a name he was known by ~ AL AMIN ~ by those who knew him.

Only the wicked and the idolaters detested him. (It is obvious that the same kind of people are detesting him today).

Ghenghis Khan & Atila was barbaric too and they were well respected honoured and loved as well. Ghenghis Khan is even worshipped by some Mongolians to this day.

Prophet Muhammad is not worshipped by anyone, not even me.

Maybe you are the worshipper of Genghis Khan & Atila the barbaric. It was for this reason that your religion teaches you to worship Jesus.

I thought Muhammad had 99 wives. He is short of 1 to make it 100 but that woman in the end didn't become his wife. I read it from Islamic prophets book when I'm in my primary.

I am not aware if Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had 99 wives .. but I'm sure  two respected prophets David and Solomon have married 100 and hundred wives (as reported in the Bible)

yes indeed, having multiple wives is not endorsed by God.

Note that Khatijah was in fact a Catholic and Mo and her had a Christian marriage. thats why he didn't dared marry another woman until after she died.

No!
He married Jawairiyah - in 5 A.H.
  
He married Maria - in 7 A.H (She was offered as a slave but converted to islam before Prophet married her). Her sister Serena married to Hassan bin Thaber.

I'm sure I read the books about 99 wives. Maybe that book is produced by PAS.

Rape of war captives have since been SOP for muslim armies throughout history, even up till today. And they justify their actions based on teh very same verses that is presented in the article.
