A branch of 'The Loaf' bakery owned by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad located in Bangsar Village II has closed down. Our visit to the premises on the ground floor of the shopping complex found the shop to be covered in black curtains apart from the tables and chairs arranged in a corner, and utensils wrapped in plastic to be unloaded.
Malaysian Digest also interviewed several employees in Bangsar Village II, among them, a jewellery store employee who only wants to be known as Quinie, and questioned the same thing.
"I’ve noticed that The Loaf hasn't been opened for quite a while. Otherwise, we’d usually smell the bread," she said.
While a cosmetic’s company employee, Sarah, told us The Loaf did not get enough traffic because of its location that is a bit hidden compared to other restaurants on the same floor.
