what to do with 1000 indian rupees?

I have about 1 bagful of indian 1000 rupees and the latest to change those rupees is 30 dec but won't be back in India until feb 2017.
what i have to do thambi?

India has just withdrawn all 500 and 1,000 rupee notes as part of efforts to crack down on illegal money - and with a few exceptions they are no longer legal tender.
