Good day for all....
I open this thread based on the board title, not to quarrel about my religion with anyone.
Sorry about my poor English. I hope everyone could understand the main idea of my post.
There are various way of religions in this world got their names. Sometimes from the founder or the name of the certain religion follower. For example:
1. The Christian religion got it name from the Christ that they used for Nabi Isa or who they called Jesus Christ.
2. The Buddha name was taken from the religion founder Gautama Buddha.
3. The Zarathusra name was taken from the name of a flag bearer, Zarathusra.
4. The Jew name was taken from a tribe that called Jewish.
5. Islam name wasn抰 taken from any person or certain follower. The Islam founder isn抰 from among people. Islam is for all races.
Islam Definitions
We could see very clear about Islam definition in the al Quran itself,
Firman Allah swt,
慏an siapakah yang lebih baik deennya dari orang yang menyerahkan wajahnya (dirinya) kepada Allah, sedangkan dia berbuat ihsan dan mengikut deen Ibrahim dengan hanya cenderung kepada Allah |

I guess you only read the quran yar?Christian and Buddhist and Hinduism and many other religion are for all races..Although you can see a difinite difference between all religions in this world...One fine example would be,act terrorism done by some worshippers of Islam...
SO,before you start trying to explain matters and commenting about other religion..start reading the basics of them..Well of course, for a Muslim that's impossible.. |

'Impossible' is not the word --- "Going backwards" is the right word. For a Muslim to go into the fundamentals of other religions is going backwards into darkness and ignorance. Most Muslims - whether they themselves or their ancestors came from those religions.
I was a Christian. The ancestors of most of the Malay Muslims in Malaysia were Hindus, Buddhists or animists.

With that type of mentality,it's no wonder there's religion discrimination in most Arab and some Muslim majority countries(except good peaceful Malaysia of course)

Mo's behavior was definitely far from exemplary. He started with false prophethood, then highway robbery, assasination and murder, torture, genocide, rape, paedophilia etc...
It doesn't matter how much cut and paste yu do, it will never hde Mo's behavior as recorded in the Quran and hadiths.

Evening...
Thats your saying mod Debmey.... not mine...
Allah The Almighty...
Unlike other prophets and messengers, the Prophet Muhammad lived in the full light of history. Muslims don't need to have "faith" that he existed and that his teachings are preserved - they know it to be a fact. |

Thats not what i'm saying, thats what the Quran and hadiths are saying. Have yu read and studied your Quran and dusty hadith left ion the shelf lately? Or did you leave your brain on the shelf and employed a middle man between you and Allah and allowed them to interpret, interpret interpret out of the facts?

Fleursza, hi,
A few things to correct here:
The Buddha name was taken from the religion founder Gautama Buddha
Not true. The founder of Buddhism is called Siddharta Gautama. Those who follows Siddharta's practice & development of of morality, meditation & wisdom is to achieve Enlightenment or Buddhahood. Thus, Buddha means "The Enlightened".
Gautama Buddha is the evolved way of addressing the founder in the commercial world.
The Christian religion got it name from the Christ that they used for Nabi Isa or who they called Jesus Christ
The word "Christ" comes from Greek meaning Messiah. His real name is Yeshua bar Josef (Jesus son of Joseph). Not sure the "bar" also meaning "bin" for muslims. Anyway, that is the naming culture of the people in that region at that time.
So, when we translate it into Greek, the Y becomes I. They add S at the end as only feminine names end in vowel. It becomes "Iesus". The I becomes J during the gothic medieval period. When combines Jesus with the title Christus (Messiah) it becomes Jesus Christ.
So, the assertion Christ is his name is not true as it was a title given to him meaning Messiah.
Something like Kung Fu Zi (Confucius in English), the "Zi" meaning teacher or someone of higher learning & wisdom to the people in that era/period. Equivalent to today's Datuk/Tan Sri/Tun.... not easy to get one.
p/s: Clearing misinformation snowball before it becomes greater & bigger misconception.
Warm Regards |

When yu live within the umma, the culture and environment makes it hard for you to think independently.
I know of a few Muslims who left Islam and dared to talk about it.
When they startred questioning what they read in the Quran and hadiths critically, they got into trouble with the Muslism around them. Its not a healthy position for an intellectual. |

Hi,

My best friends are among people who are Buddhism, Hinduism, Christian, Jewish...
But we never discussed about the basic of our religions...
I tried to invite my Christian and Jewish friend to learn about Islam though..
But I respected them when they told me they beleived that they have the right religion...
No big deal... |
