Notebook aku amat nipis giler, Sony Vaio yang seberat 1.2kg
Masalahnya ialah no CDROM, no FDD, no bios option to boot from USB dan no LAN.
macam mana nak install Linux?
The only way ialah bukak hard disk dan copy semua Linux file ke dalamnya pakai USB hard disk reader. tapi adakah cara lain? |

Aku dah guna Debian (dan macam-macam Linux distro) on Dell Inspiron 4150, memang best!

Install and run Ubuntu without disturbing Windows
Want to take Linux for a spin? Forget partitions, dual-boot setups and live CDs: The new Ubuntu Windows installer lets you run the Linux distro while keeping the rest of your system intact.
In other words, it's like a live CD without the CD. Just run the installer, which in turn downloads a disk image of Ubuntu (actually, your choice of four Ubuntu distros), and then reboot your PC. Choose the desired boot option from the menu that appears, and pres to: You'rerunning Linux. This is a working prototype, not a finished product, so user beware. It didn't work on my Vista box (I discovered after thefact that Vista isn't supported yet), but it ran like a gem on an XPsystem. Great way to run Ubuntu without the hassles of partitioning orburning a live CD!

utk run Ubuntu, RAM sekurang-kurangya 128MB yg menggunakan default Gnome desktop. Tp klaau RAM dah kecik, boleh guna XFCE desktop environment. XFCE desktop kurang menggunakan sumber RAM berbanding Gnome. Gnome plak, guna kurang sumber RAM berbanding KDE.
Ada lah pulak desktop environment jenis JWM, IceWM, dan Fluxbox yg menggunakan kurang RAM resources berbanding XFCE. Cth linux yg menggunakan IceWM desktop ialah linux kontot, DSL..
In case drasmadi, memang Ubuntu Gnome tak boleh nak support VGA lagi dah, sbb RAM nya terlalu rendah. Kalau dah guna 8 MB RAM for graphic, hanya yg tinggal 56MB jer lagi nak run Gnome system (yg sekurang-kurangnya kena ada RAM bersaiz 128MB)..
My cents... |
