Since this Rick dude is new to all of this, we thought it would be a nice gesture to help break him into the music business by asking him to produce our next record. We're very happy he said yes! Someone needs to light a fire under Metallica's ass and Bob just wasn't cutting it. He wasn't cutting it for the last decadeunder metallica's ass jangan kang kuar album cm at snger lagi sudah he he he.
Bob Rock is doing the new MotleyCrue record which should be interesting in its own right.
But having Rick Rubin on board for this next Metallica recording is fuc.king awesome! It's like your favorite team just signed the best free agent on the market and you can wait til the season starts.
Nobody in rock, pop, hiphop, country, etc. can fuc.k with Rick Rubins resume. Anybody want to tally up the total record sales on albums that he has produced? Ok, ok album sales doesn't have to do with quality art but he has produced LEGENDARY records for twenty years now. Licenese to Ill, BloodSugarSexMagic, Reign in Blood, the list goes on...
Lets not forget that Rob Trujillo is an extremely talented bassist that will bring a lot to the table during the songwriting sessions. Damn, I'm getting chills thinkin about how he can utilized. That guy is a monster player.
Above all else I LOVE the fact that the band is writing recording and PERFORMING all at once. Rather than the usual cycle of record, tour, rest, repeat - Metallica is taking on limited engagements i.e. San Francisco Stones gigs, Sundance, Escape from the Studio '06. When a bands tours their chops are at an all-time high. So for Metallica to keep their playing chops at "gig ready" level means they will be able to fuc.kng THROW DOWN in the studio.
Anybody reading this that plays an instrument knows what I'm getting at.
This is shaping up to be a mother fuc.ker of a record.I'll be cheering them...
