 The OnePlus One draws ever closer to its targeted Q2 release timeframe, and while we’ve yet to see the actual device, the startup has done a wonderful job at teasing us. Recently we’ve started to get a better picture of the device’s specs, which include a Snapdragon 800 CPU and a 3100 mAh battery at a price tag of under $400. A recent post from @evleaks also reveals the handset will somehow feature a choice between capacitive and on-screen keys. Earlier today, OnePlus revealed more details about the display as well. The handset will feature a massive JDI 5.5-inch display with a 1080×1920 resolution, armed with a TOL (Touch On Lens) module that is said to eliminate the distance between the touch sensor and display panel. It is also reportedly 300% more shatterproof than competing OGS technology and is very power efficient. We know what you’re probably thinking: this is going to be a monster-sized phone in order to accommodate the display, but you’d be wrong. According to OnePlus’ founder Pete Lau, the Sony Xperia Z1 in the picture above is actually sitting on top of the OnePlus One. In other words, the OnePlus One is no wider than a Sony phone with a 5-inch display. As you might imagine, this means that the OnePlus One is going to be as close to bezel-less as possible. Of course, it’s important to point out that you can’t see the bottom half of the Z1 and we have a feeling that the reason for this is that the OnePlus features a much taller design than your typical handset — think something along the lines of the iPhone 5 family of devices. Keep in mind that’s just speculation on our part, but we wouldn’t be too surprised. One thing is for sure, OnePlus continues to grab our attention with just about every teaser we’ve seen so far. Now here’s to hoping that they can actually live up to the hype and deliver on all the promises. The handset is expected to be unveiled March 16th, so we don’t have too much longer of a wait. Source
