LOS ANGELES, March 5 — Possible plot spoilers for 2015’s “Terminator: Genesis” have surfaced, implying that the fifth film will weave itself into the story arcs of both “Terminator” (1984) and “Terminator 2” (1991). The film will be comparable to “Star Trek” and “Back to the Future Part II” in the way that it references previous entries to the franchise, according to a source speaking with Moviehole. In J.J. Abrams’s “Star Trek,” Leonard Nimoy was on hand to connect the reboot to a wider fictional universe; “Back to the Future II” saw Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd approach scenes from the first movie from a different angle. As such, “Terminator: Genesis” will visit 1984, 1991 and the future. Schwarzenegger’s T-101 will wreak havok in the ‘80s, going through a phone directory’s worth of Sarah Connors; fast-forward seven years and it’s the lithe and lethal liquid metal T-1000 tracking down John Connor’s foster parents. There’ll be new backstory too, allowing viewers to see a younger Sarah and learn about her own home life and upbringing. Another introduction to the Terminator timeline means that John Connor, as leader of the human resistance, will be given cause to revisit the past and stop Skynet from achieving total victory. Officially confirmed to appear alongside Arnold S in “Terminator: Genesis” are Emilia Clarke (Daenerys in “Game of Thrones”) as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke (Dan in “Zero Dark Thirty”) as John Connor, and Jai Courtney (Eric in “Divergent”) as John’s lieutenant. Alan Taylor of “Thor: The Dark World” and various “Games of Thrones,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Sopranos” episodes is to direct. — AFP-Relaxnews
