Universal Studios has announced shooting of Fast & Furious 7 will resume soon. Production was halted temporarily after Paul Walker died in a car crash in late November. According to The Hollywood Reporter, production should resume on or near April 1 with the shoot expected to last up to eight weeks. Producers have decided to ‘retire’ Walker’s character Brian O’Conner rather than kill him off in the film. Kurt Russell, who is a new addition to the cast, recenrlt claimed Walker’s death had been ‘catastrophic’. He said at Sundance Film Festival: ‘They’re having to rewrite, they’re having to do whatever they’re having to do to deal with the situation. ‘It’s catastrophic. It’s the worst thing that could happen to a movie but it’s not as bad as what happened to Paul. ‘So everything is in perspective. He was a terrific guy. And life is full of curveballs. ‘It’s just a situation that they’ll work out and, at that time, I’ll go back to work.’ Fast & Furious 7 is out on April 10, 2015. Metro
