Right, you might want to take a seat for this: a movie boffin reckons he's uncovered something mind-blowing about the mother of Toy Story's human-in-chief Andy. In a lengthy essay, the observant Jon Negroni explains why he thinks Mrs Davis has a bigger tie to the toys than we initially thought. He draws reference to the hat Andy wears in the first movie, and the fact it is noticeably different to the one Woody is wearing; suggesting it was a present from his mother.  Fast forward a film, and a similar-looking hat is sported by Jessie. Emily, Jessie's previous owner, is seen to have the same hat during the emotional 'When She Loved Me' sequence. Negroni assumes that this sequence is set in the 1970s, based on the decorations on Emily's bedroom wall.  He reasons: "That makes Emily the same age as Andy's mom, who had him in the 80s. They also have the same hat, except the white lace on Andy's hat is missing, but you can clearly see where it once was. There's even a faded mark." See where this is going? Could Emily, Jessie's previous owner, be Andy's mother?  Negroni adds: "The theory is that in a twist of fate, Emily (Andy's mom) loved a cowboy toy but gave it away during her adolescence. Her son would grow to love a cowboy toy as well, in a weird way that resembles the strong love she once had. "She passed the hat down to him, and as destiny would have it, Andy would one day receive Jessie, as well. This would redeem his mother's abandoning of her, making Emily's story come full-circle."
