A student spotted the snatch thief who had robbed her of her mobile phone the day before - at the same place where the incident happened. The 17-year-old girl was walking by a mall on Friday in Kota Kinabalu, capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah, when she spotted him. She yelled at him and continued to shout, telling the people around her that he had stolen her phone, Malaysia's The Star reported. Several people sprung into action, chased him and apprehended the man. They pinned him down and waited for the police to arrive. Said the student: "I could recognise him because he snatched my mobile phone and he was wearing the same shirt he wore the previous day." She alleged that the man slapped her twice and hit her in the abdomen after he snatched the phone. She lodged a police report the day after the incident and said she was relieved that the man had been arrested. Kota Kinabalu city police chief Assistant Commissioner Jauteh Dikun said they are investigating.
