Come the 2010 Paris Motor Show from 2 -17 October, BMW will be vying to play a major role among the renowned marques list at the Show with three World premieres. BMW Concept and production vehicles debut at the Paris Mondial Auto are set in the form of the BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe (above), the new X3 and the new 5 Series Touring, along with several surprising elements . Let's start with the Concept 6 Series Coupé. this concept variant is classified as a premium-class 2+2-seater which combines both suave aesthetics and driving dynamics. Flowing lines and aesthetically sculpted surfaces define the design of the Concept 6 Series Coupé, in which classic BMW coupé styling cues are given a modern rendition. Among the innovative details featured in this concept study are full LED headlights and a newly designed, freestanding Control Display for the iDrive operating system (above right). Next up, the new X3, the most popular SAV for BMW, features more enhanced dynamics by virtues of ride comfort, interior space and versatility. The new X3 will be available in two engine variants, including a 6-cylinder option coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. For the first time, the X3 will have an auto Start-Stop function. Other prominent features on the X3 include electromechanical Servotronic steering, a Drive Dynamic Control option and driver assistance systems from BMW ConnectedDrive; made up of Adaptive Headlights, Head-Up Display and the rear view camera with Top View. One of the highly anticipated BMWs for the Paris Mondial Auto for its enthusiasts is the new 5 Series Touring. The 5 Series Touring now comes with additional engine variants and the M Sports package. Two additional diesel engines; 525d/535d, and a further petrol unit, 528i, now complement the range of powerplants available. The 525d Touring is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine with 150 kW/204 hp, while the straight-six that drives the 535d Touring summons up 220 kW/300 hp thanks to BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. Its petrol option, the 528i Touring lines up for action with lean-burn high precision injection and output of 190 kW/258 hp. Also stepping out in Paris are the first all-wheel-drive models of the new Executive Touring in the form of the BMW 535i xDrive Touring and the BMW 530d xDrive. BMW has also decided to showcase its M Sports package and xDrive all-wheel drive technology for its 5 Series Touring (M), 5 Series Saloon (M/xDrive) and 5 Series Gran Turismo (xDrive) line-ups. The range of engine variants for the new 5 Series Saloon is being extended by a further diesel unit, namely the in-line six-cylinder engine of the BMW 535d Saloon with output of 220 kW/300 hp.
