TOKYO — Toyota has released the first images of its redesigned 2014 Toyota Harrier, the Japanese-market crossover that is expected to spawn the next-generation 2015 Lexus RX.
The 2014 Harrier is slated to debut this fall at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show. The Harrier will go on sale this winter, according to Toyota's Japanese-language Web site. The 2015 Lexus RX is expected to go on sale next year in the U.S. It targets the Audi Q5, Cadillac SRX and Lincoln MKX. Toyota hasn't released specifications or powertrain details on either the new Harrier or the new RX. The styling changes appear to be mostly evolutionary, with the crossover retaining its familiar greenhouse while getting a more aggressively styled front end. The 2013 Lexus RX remains one of the best-selling premium crossovers in the U.S., with sales in the first half of 45,818. Lexus offers the RX in several versions, including the RX 350, the RX 350 F Sport and the RX 450h hybrid.
