Nowadays when smartphone seems to be a commodity in life and it can be linked up with so many gadgets to facilitate our lives to be more convenient. Nobody can refuse that Smartwatch is one of the gadget that comes to top of mind to the smartphone owners as a top gadgets they want to have
Today I want to share with you guys on my review of Martian watch. Ummm.. probably they are not the widely known brand, however, they have cool features that you'll see soon... come and have a look together! Martian is originated from USA. The company Martian was well known for the award winning SilverCare Personal Safety Alert Device, which was a 2 way voice communication watch and also the world's first voice command watch. They position themselves as the crossroad of smart devices and stylish watches.
Pairing Martian Watch with your android phone Martian watches are compatible both for Apple and Android smartphones. We managed to pair it with a Google Nexus 4 Android phone. Firstly make sure that your phone has Bluetooth capability otherwise you cannot use the cool functions on the watch. Enable Bluetooth by going to Settings on the phone. Search for devices to until you find Martian Watch symbol located on your available devices list, click on it to start paring. The Martian Watch alert application allows you to configure alerts for Text messages, Calendar, Facebook, Gmail, Whatsapp, Line, Google, Skype and Linkedin. Simple toggle Off to On if you want to activate alerts for the apps you want. (Note this instructions are specifically for Android smartphone devices, for Apple iOS you will need to refer to the manual or go online.) The Martian Watch has 3 bottoms, 2 on the left side and a Crown on the right. The Crown is only used for adjusting the hands of the analog clock, and most functions are activated by a combination of both buttons or 1 on the left . Below the watch face is a OLED display which shows the notification emails, alerts and on the bottom right side of the watch is the microphone, speaker where you can receive calls via bluetooth from your smartphone. Using Voice command One of the major functions that really impressed me with the Martian Watch was the ability to remotely activate Google voice-text input function. E.g press the top left button once, the OLED will display red and your Android smartphone will activate the Google voice recorder. Simply speak into the microphone of the watch and it will convert your voice into input text. I tried this to find out the weather or search on Google. It may take a while to distinguish your voice, but its is close to accurate after a few practices. The functions are endless for Martian Watches as it shows it can act as your remote device for your smartphone. Calls Also an impressive feature of the Martian Watch is the incoming & outgoing calls. We tested this function by asking a workmate to call my phone. The Martian Watch actually vibrates on your wrist when an incoming call gets in. To answer it, I simply pressed the top button once to speak and listen, and to end the call press the top button again. To mute or reject however when the call comes in you just had to press the bottom left button. Once you have finished the OLED display will show “Call Ended” if English is the setup language on the Watch. For making outgoing calls on the Martian Watch, you had to active voice command on the phone. There will be a beep after you press the top button and you can use to search your contact address to call. Email & Text notifications Email notifications and text can be viewed on the OLED screen with the first 40 characters in a display only once. Simply press the top button when you see a green flash of the OLED. To really activate voice commands for your android phone you will have to create custom hotspot voice enable commands. This is quite advance setup which will not able to be covered in this review. |
