KUALA LUMPUR, April 8: The slap bounty offered by former Sabah Chief Minister Yong Teck Lee to slap Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has taken a twist, with an open invitation by the latter. Zahid motivated the bounty offer and challenged Yong to slap him for a reward of RM501. According to a report by Utusan Online, Ahmad Zahid said in his address to the ministry’s staff in Putrajaya that Yong should be brave enough to carry out the deed himself instead of paying someone else to do it. “A generous person offered RM500 to the person who slaps me. Anyone who does the deed will get the money. “I am also making an offer of RM501 to this good person if he will come slap me. If he is brave enough to do so, why ask others to slap me?” the report quoted Ahmad Zahid as saying although he did not directly name Yong. Yong offered the slap bounty last week after criticising the Home Minister over the security breach in Sabah that led to the kidnapping of a Chinese national and a Filipina in a Semporna resort. The two were kidnapped on April 2 from the Singamata Reef Resort and were believed to have been moved to Jolo in the Philippines. The kidnappers made a call to the Chinese national’s family four days later to inform the family that the victims were safe. The Rakyat Post
