KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will summon five ministries to explain findings in Series 1 of the Auditor General's Report 2013, the Dewan Rakyat heard today. Its chairman, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said they are the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry (MOA), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Works (MOW), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) and the Ministry of Education (MOE). The MOA has to answer for delay of Paya Peda Dam in Besut while the MOE must explain why the Sultan Azlan Shah Campus of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) was constructed not according to specification and failed to receive the certificate of fitness (CF). "The Ministry of Health must clarify the procurement and storage of assets and the food programme while the Ministry of Home Affairs will be asked to explain the purchase of equipment for Rela members, especially shoes." Nur Jazlan told a press conference on Series 1, Auditor General's Report 2013. Earlier, he had a meeting with the Auditor-General, Tan Sri Ambrin Buang in Parliament House. He said the MOE should explain why no study was done to produce theories, concepts, and ideas although the allocation had been spent. The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR), the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) would also be summoned if time permits. Nur Jazlan said the MOHR has to anwer for the youth training centre while the MOD has to clarify the management of Hospital Angkatan Tentera Tuanku Mizan. "As for the EPF, although it has done well, the PAC wants an explanation on its plans and measures to reduce risk in international investment," he added. - BERNAMA
