Paramount will allegedly release a fifth 'Transformers' movie in 2017.

Details surrounding the follow-up to 'Transformers: Age Of Extinction,' which is set to be released later this summer, have been leaked courtesy of Hasbro [via SlashFilm.com].

Rumours have even started to circulate that the next film's title will be' Victory of the Fallen,' but, of course, none of this information has yet to be confirmed by Paramount, Hasbro or Michael Bay.

Despite the scandalous nature of Transformers5-gate, it makes perfect sense that a fifth instalment to the robots in disguise franchise is planned for 2017.

3-years between films will give Michael Bay and his screenwriters plenty of time to plan out the latest addition to the series, and let's face it they are probably working on the script for the potential film already.

Plus, Paramount will also be happy to green-light another instalment because 'Transformers: Age Of Extinction' will almost certainly add a substantial amount of money to the $2.6billion that the first three films have previously amassed; something that they managed even though 'Revenge of the Fallen' and 'Dark of the Moon' were critically panned.

It will be interesting to see who returns for the fifth film, if it does materialise, though.

Michael Bay appears to be the glue that holds the cast and crew together, especially since Mark Wahlberg admitted he only signed up for 'Age Of Extinction' to work with the director again, so it seems as though he needs to return in order for Paramount to instantly approve the project.

In fact, it's almost impossible to imagine a 'Transformers' film without Bay's relentlessly bombastic direction.

However, after overseeing four films you could easily see the filmmaker moving on to different projects, even though, lets face it, his directing style would be exactly the same regardless of the narrative or characters involved.

If Bay did drop out, would Wahlberg follow? Would Paramount have the same amount of trust in the franchise with another director at the helm?

Of course, at the moment, these are just questions for science-fiction writers because a) 'Transformers 5' hasn't even been confirmed, and b) We don't even know if Bay isn't directing it.

Still if a fifth film does come out in 2017 you'll have to tip your cap to both Paramount and Bay's work-rate because that would mean that they've released a 'Transformers' movie every 2 years for a decade, which would be a staggering achievement.
