 Huawei has kicked off its ICT Roadshow 2014 to highlight its latest technology, including a datacentre housed in a 40ft shipping container, the first to be showcased in Malaysia. The Container Data Centre Solution helps businesses deploy a datacentre quickly as it’s self-contained. Huawei says its solution promises better security and reliability, as well as cost and energy savings. Traditional datecentres suffer from long construction period, high energy consumption and bigger initial investment, said Huawei Malaysia country director for enterprise business, Leo Li. The company also launched the OceanStor 18000 series, its flagship storage system for next-generation datacenters. This series consists of two models — the OceanStor 18500 and OceanStor 18800 — which feature virtualisation, hybrid cloud, simplified IT, and low carbon footprints. “Huawei has more than 10 years of experience in datacentre services.
