PETALING JAYA (March 27): He's at it again … After the ruckus he created at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang recently, self-proclaimed Raja Bomoh was spotted trying "to raise the bodies of the dead" from the sea. He was seen performing his ritual in Pulau Sembilan, Perak yesterday along with his followers to allegedly help the families find their missing loved ones who are believed to have perished in the MH370 tragedy. Raja Bomoh Ibrahim Mat Zain who performed one of his rituals at the KLIA to allegedly locate the missing flight drew ridicule and criticisms from around the world for his actions. Perak PAS Youth chief, Raja Ahmad Iskandar Raja Yaakob in a statement hit out at Raja Bomoh, urging immediate action against such "unIslamic" acts. "PAS Youth is greatly disappointed that such acts are still going on despite so much criticism, including from Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria that such acts must stop. "I urge the Islamic Affairs Department to take immediate action to stop this nonsense," he said in a statement. Raja Bomoh's ritual was carried by portal Suara.TV yesterday in a three minute video where he and his followers travelled to Pulau Sembilan and performed the ritual. In the video, Ibrahim's assistant is shown looking through bamboo binoculars and 'raking' the sea waters using a walking stick. Ibrahim told Suara.TV that the ritual was symbolic and following some prayers, the remains of the 239 missing passengers would allegedly float to the surface. "The binoculars we used is to locate the crash site and the walking stick was to call out to the bodies and the sharp bamboo sticks to pull the victims out," he added.
