 More than four years after her tragic, shocking death, Brittany Murphy's final movie Something Wicked has a release date, the film's producers announced Monday, March 17. Something Wicked will debut April 4 at the Regal Theater in Eugene, Oregon (in honor of the town where the movie was filmed) and expand nationwide shortly after, Merchant Films shared in its press release. The R-rated flick is described by the studio as a "hauntingly seductive thriller about obsession and young love gone wrong." The film's premise is based around a young newlywed couple, whose marriage is sabotaged by a manipulative, psychotic acquaintance. Shantel VanSanten, John Robinson, James Patrick Stuart, and Julian Morris costar in the movie along with the late actress. "Brittany pulled off one of the spookiest scenes in the movie," Something Wicked producer and screenwriter Joe Colleran told USA Today back in 2011. "There's an important scene where her character is unraveling and she spent a long time getting ready and focused and went for it. Personally, I think it's one of the best scenes of her career." Murphy rose to fame after starring in movies like Clueless (1995), 8 Mile (2002), and Sin City (2005). Sadly, her promising film career ended after she was found dead back in December 2009 in her Hollywood Hills home at age 32. At the time, Murphy's cause of death was ruled as a combination of pneumonia, anemia, and prescription drug intoxication. Speculation surrounding her sudden passing resurfaced last December after a lab report, commissioned by the star's biological father, indicated there was rat poison found in Murphy's hair. A spokesman for the L.A. County Coroner's Office addressed the poisoning claims and told Us Weekly, "We have not seen the lab results from her dad or been contacted by him.
