Jesse Lingard of FC Seoul in the K-League 1 ended up on the operating table after complaining of knee pain. It looks like it will take about a month to return. "I will come back stronger," Lingard said on his SNS account, vowing to make a successful comeback.

Seoul coach Kim Ki-dong met with reporters ahead of the seventh round of the Hana One Q K League 1 2024 match against the Pohang Steelers at 2 p.m. on the 13th and said Lingard had surgery on the 12th.

Having played for the English national team and the Manchester United, Lingard entered the K-League this season, drawing keen attention from fans. However, he failed to score offensive points in three K-League matches, and was recently sidelined for four consecutive matches due to knee injury.

"Lyngaard had a cartilage damage in his knee in the past, but he has only recovered through rehabilitation without surgery. However, he complained of pain during shooting training during the A-match break last month. Recently, he played 45 minutes in practice matches to return to the team, but he kept feeling discomfort in his knee," coach Kim Ki-dong said. "After discussing rehabilitation and surgery, I underwent surgery yesterday (on May 12)."

Although it is a surgery, it is not a serious situation. "The surgery took just 10 minutes. It is a simple surgery that I had before when I was a player. Lingard is walking well now," he said. "However, it will take about a month to play."

Lingard expressed his strong will to make a comeback. "Lyngaard was very positive. He must have been afraid because he had his first surgery in his soccer career in another country, but he said, "It's hard now, but I have an opportunity to do better."

On the same day, Lingard also announced through SNS that the surgery was successfully completed.

Along with a photo of him smiling while lying in the hospital room, he wrote, "The surgery has been successful. I will come back stronger. I'm sure everything has its own reasons."

He then posted a picture of his uniform in Seoul marked with his number 10 and the Korean word "Hope" and expressed his wish for a successful return.
