"We're going to make history!"

The three teams on the threshold of winning the 2024 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Season are determined to make history.

Genji, Hanwha Life Esports, and T1 held a media day at the LCK Arena at Roll Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on April 9, ahead of the semifinals and finals. Genji, which is headed to the finals, is looking to become the first team to win four consecutive LCK titles, while Hanwha Life and T1, who are facing off in the finals, are aiming for their first championship and 11th golden tower, respectively.

"We are doing our best to work together with our players to create a feat that no one has ever accomplished before - winning four consecutive LCK titles," said Genji head coach Kim Jung-soo.

After winning the 2022 LCK Summer Season, Genji went on to dominate the Spring and Summer in 2023 and reached the finals again this spring, making it four in a row. In the 13-year history of the LCK, three consecutive titles have been won, but four consecutive "Quadruple Crowns" is a first. It means a lot.

"We're trying to show our colors," Kim said. As we prepare for the 14.6 patch for the finals, there are quite a few champions that other teams don't bring up, but we value them highly," he said, adding, 바카라사이트 "We will prepare meticulously for the rest of the season so that we can definitely win the final."

"Both Hanwha Life and T1 have such a strong lineup that it wouldn't be surprising to see anyone in the finals," he said, adding, "For Genji, who is waiting in the wings, I hope it's a full-set battle." Genji has faced T1 in three previous LCK Finals, winning all three.

Hanwha Life has already made history by finishing third in the Spring Season with a 15-3 record, the most wins in history. Although they are third in the standings, this means that they are not far behind the first-place Genji and second-place T1 in the regular season. Despite T1's individual and team training being disrupted in the aftermath of the DDoS attack, the team picked up momentum with a 3-0 sweep of T1 in the second round of the playoffs.

"Reaching the finals this spring is a new record for our team, but we will do our best to go even higher," said Hanwha Life head coach Choi In-kyu. "T1 is a strong team, but we will go to the finals with a 3-1 victory over them."

Jungler Han "Peanut" Wang-ho, who joined Hanwha Life this year, shared his goal: "I want to achieve a record that means a lot to me personally. Having won back-to-back Zenji titles in 2022 and 2023, Han Wang-ho would win his fourth consecutive title if he were to win the championship this spring. That's a feat that even T1's Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, the LCK's most decorated player, has yet to accomplish. "It's a record that can only be achieved by surpassing T1, but if we prepare with the experience of winning the second round of the playoffs, we'll be able to reach the finals and hopefully set a new record while getting revenge on Genji," Han said.

After being rocked by the DDoS attack, T1 bounced back with a 3-0 victory over DePlus Kia in the loser's bracket of the second round of the playoffs, and the team is eager to capitalize on the opportunity.

"We lost to Hanwha Life in the second round of the playoffs, but we showed our strengths against DePlus and got a chance to play at the KSPO Dome," said T1 head coach Kim Jung-gyun. "We believe in our players because they have played in many big matches, not only in the LCK but also in MSI and Roled Cup." "We've shown various combinations throughout the season, and if we play without regrets in the finals against Hanwha Life, we should be able to win 3-1. If we win this match, we can fight with confidence even if we meet the 'defending champions' Genji."

"I will be happy to celebrate Hanwha Life's first championship and Genji's fourth consecutive LCK championship," said Lee "Faker" Sang-hyuk, who is synonymous with the LCK and LoL esports worldwide, "but my personal goal is to win T1's 11th championship, so I will do my best to achieve it.

The best-of-seven finals will be held at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park on April 14, with Hanwha Life facing T1 and the winner taking on Genji. Both matches will be best-of-five, best-of-three, and will begin at 3pm. Genji and the other finalist will punch their tickets to the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) in Chengdu, China in May.
