To Take Kim Ha-sung, You Have To Give a .300 hitter and 1st Round Prospect

How valuable is Kim Ha-sung 28 of the San Diego Padres, who is drawing attention in the trade market as a reserve FA? Analysts say that he would be eligible for a trade card only when he presents a first-round promising player with a batting average of 300,000.

The U.S. sports media "Blitzer Report" made seven win-win trades a week before the start of spring training on the 7th. Seven players, including Kim Ha-sung, Edward Cabrera Miami Marlins, Kenley Jansen Boston Red Sox, Emanuel Clase Clineland Guardians, Devin Williams, Willie Adames Milk Brewers, and Dealers Seeds Chicago White Sox, were treated as trade main chips.

The media proposed a 1-2 trade in which San Diego would receive Tampa Bay Rays designated hitter, outfielder, and first baseman Harold Ramirez 29 and first baseman prospect Jabier Isaac 20 as a condition for giving up Kim Ha-sung.

Colombian Ututa Ramirez has a career-high 463 games batting average of 289 with 36 homers and 218 RBIs for five years since his debut in 2019. He had a career-high season last year with a batting average of 313 with 12 homers and 68 RBIs with an OPS of .813 in 122 games. He has been playing as designated hitter for the past two years, but he is a corner outfielder and can defend first base, which is enough to fill San Diego's short position.

Isaac is a left-handed, left-handed first baseman who was selected as the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 draft. He hit a batting average of 285 in 102 games, including 103 hits in 361 at-bats, and posted an OPS of 916. He is expected to rank fourth among promising players in the Tampa Bay team in the MLB Pipeline.

Tampa Bay's Wander Franco, who played as the starting shortstop for the past three years, was arrested and jailed in the Dominican Republic for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. It is virtually impossible for him to return to the team due to an indefinite administrative leave in mid-August last year when the case was revealed. He brought in Seattle Mariners all-weather infielder Jose Caballero through a trade early last month, but he has never played full-time shortstop yet.

The media said, "Tampa Bay is another potential destination for shortstop Adames, but given recent history, it is highly likely that they will become San Diego if they trade. Currently, the most undervalued player in the major leagues, Kim Ha-sung, could be a strong basis," adding that Tampa Bay is expected to show interest in Kim Ha-sung's trade.

"Kim Ha-sung, a Gold Glove-winning defender, has performed well enough in attack to record more than rWAR 5 over the past two years, including 17 home runs and 38 steals in 2023. There are only 10 players other than Kim Ha-sung who have performed like this," he said. "In other words, Kim Ha-sung is a better option as a shortstop than Caballero."

The media continued, "San Diego is setting a high price for Kim Ha-sung's trade. Of course, it is when it is almost certain that he will become an FA after the season after rejecting mutual options in 2025, adding that he can use Kim Ha-sung, who is difficult to sign an extension, as a trade, but he will not give it away at most."

However, if Ramirez is a .300 hitter and Isaac is a promising player, it can be a long-term benefit for San Diego as well. Media outlets said, "If San Diego brings Ramirez in, it can be used immediately in offense as a left fielder, a first baseman, and a designated hitter. Although it is a platoon, he recorded a .306 batting average and an adjusted OPS of 121 over the past two years," adding, "The real product of this deal is Isaac. Although he still has more than a year to go before his Major League debut, he recorded an OPS of .916 in the Minor League last year, establishing himself as a top 1 prospect."

The trade value of Kim Ha-sung is not usually tied at one to one. Fox Sports, another media outlet, also recommended Kim Ha-sung's trip to Milwaukee on April 30, suggesting nine things that could be a win-win trade. It singled out out outfielder Joey Wimmer 24 and bullpen pitcher Bryce Wilson 26 as benefits that San Diego will receive. Wimmer, who debuted in the big league last year, had a batting average of 0.24 percent 75 hits in 367 times at bat in 132 games, but he is highly likely to develop due to his young age as a player with 13 homers and outfield defense. In addition, Wilson, a bullpen pitcher who played in 53 games 76 ⅔ innings last year with six wins, three saves, and five holds a 2.58 ERA, has given high marks to Kim Ha-sung's value as he proposed a 2-1 trade.  토토사이트 추천
