Four Key Trends to Ignore in the 5G Era

Viewed 85 times20-11-2023 02:13 PM

Trend One: More Powerful Mobile Broadband

4G and LTE laid the foundation for ideal mobile data speeds. Even as 5G matures, the development of LTE Advanced-Pro will continue to dominate the industry. In the coming years, 4G and 5G will continue to coexist.fm350-gl In addition, the continued opening up of new spectrum will help mobile broadband achieve sustained growth.

5G will help enterprise service providers to increase the capacity of their student network environments, which in turn will enable them to meet the strong demand for more wireless bandwidth from different users.fwa From a technological development perspective, to take full advantage of the performance of 5G, service providers will need to deploy more small base stations, more fiber optic connectivity, and mobile edge computing in their networks, thus eliminating bottlenecks in the information network.

Trend 2: More 5G innovation through open interfaces

Open networks can help operators roll out personalized services more flexibly. However, when discussing how to develop new markets using private networks or the Internet of Things (IoT), we should realize that this powerful ecosystem will inevitably require more innovators.

Specifically, small and medium-sized companies can enter these vertical markets by building Open Radio Access Networks (O-RANs).O-RANs are the equivalent of open source in the mobile industry, where chipsets are used to build a large number of disparate devices in the same way that RAN interfaces are opened up and modules are built to create multiple networks.O-RANs will lead to more innovative services, making more advanced 5G use cases O-ran will lead to more innovative services, enabling more advanced 5G use cases.

Trend 3: China is developing a standalone (SA) plan.

In order to be at the forefront of the 5G commercial rollout, most enterprise network platform operators are working to deploy faster NSA solutions. However, once 5G is fully implemented in the next few years, NSA will need to be upgraded to SA, and the cost of this technology upgrade will outweigh the high CAPEX required to go with SA at the outset of the build.

While operators around the world are choosing NSA solutions, China has decided to opt for SA solutions to enable more advanced 5G capabilities. Several factors are driving Chinese carriers, including China Mobile, to adopt SA network and device standards: The Chinese government is working to promote 5G and IoT in manufacturing, and applications such as autonomous driving or advanced industrial manufacturing require an end-to-end 5G connection, something the NSA cannot do.

Trend #4: Wireless Future, Unlimited Future.

5G takes wireless connectivity to a new and unprecedented stage, opening up endless possibilities for the future, from self-driving cars to next-generation AI robots in manufacturing.

Fixed wireless access (FWA) is seen by international peers as one of the first 5G applications expected to be deployed. fWA enables wireless carriers to compete for a larger share of the residential broadband market. Although FWA is not a major application of 5G in China at this stage, this will not affect China's determination to lead the global 5G development. With the rise of next-generation networks, the future of China's wireless industry will be bright.
