Why does it take 15 minutes to remove the fetus for a cesarean section?

Mothers who deliver their babies via cesarean section know that the procedure does not take long. In addition, they must remove the baby as soon as possible after the abdominal incision. Removal of the baby should be limited to 15 minutes. 剖腹產寶寶Many pregnant women may wonder why there is a time limit? After consulting with the obstetrics and gynecology department, she gave several reasons, mainly to prevent these situations to ensure the safety of the mother and the fetus.

1. To prevent inflammation and tissue adhesion

If the fetus is extracted for too long, it will increase the blood seepage from the mother's wound, which will easily lead to tissue adhesion or inflammation; if the adhesion will affect the next pregnancy, the risk and hidden danger will increase.

A friend was in this situation. The first child was delivered by C-section and the second by C-section. As a result of the C-section, adhesions were found during the birth of her second child, resulting in a prolonged surgery. Fortunately, the surgery went very well.

2. To prevent excessive blood loss

This is a very important reason for us, because for cesarean section surgery, is to raise the maternal stomach to cut a cut to take the fetus can be taken out directly, that cut the opening, the wound will be through the non-stop blood seepage, naturally no time is getting longer and longer blood loss is also more and more. In case of massive blood loss, it will affect the health of the mother and the fetus.

3. Prevention of neonatal asphyxia

If it takes too long to take out the baby during cesarean section, it will easily lead to insufficient blood and oxygen supply to the fetus, and even lead to neonatal asphyxia.

4. Preventing the fetus from choking on the amniotic fluid and the occurrence of neonatal pneumonia

There is a time requirement for removing the fetus during the surgery. The last reason is to prevent the fetus from choking in the amniotic fluid, because if the fetus chokes in the amniotic fluid during birth, it may cause neonatal pneumonia, and in case of neonatal pneumonia, the baby will be hospitalized at birth.

How can the placenta be removed after a cesarean section and removal of the proceeding fetus?

The placenta is removed by cesarean section just like a natural birth. After delivery, the placenta is delivered by gently massaging the bottom of the mother's uterus or injecting oxytocin into the uterine wall to contract the uterus for placenta previa, and the midwife gently pulls out the umbilical cord to deliver the placenta.

The above is a smooth delivery of the placenta. Of course, there are cases where the placenta cannot be delivered smoothly, such as incomplete placental abruption, bleeding, or the placenta has not been detached for a long time. In such cases, you can try to assist in the peeling and removal of the placenta. After removing the placenta, the uterine cavity is wiped with gauze to check for any residual placenta or membranes.

Compared with natural delivery, cesarean section can be done quickly in a short period of time, and the mother will not suffer too much pain. However, postpartum care is more important than natural delivery, for example, after 6 hours of fasting for cesarean section, after 6 hours of exhaustion you can eat liquid food, and after 24 hours of the operation you can practise turning over and sitting up, in addition to early breastfeeding and wound care, etc. However, in general, the medical staff will help with all of these things, and the mother only need to cooperate to complete.
