Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles available, but there has to be something which you've hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or perhaps a major healing. So, that which was it.

“Trust,” I said.
Think about your life as it appears to be these days with regards to the story. How do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I think my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who's my source?” So when we speak about the past stage to the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon most of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's a lot like making a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other. Then a good wind arrives and poof, it's just blown over. It can't even stand a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon everything else; dozens of issues that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It surely comes right down to the essence of who's my brother? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that one?So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading would be to the awareness that everything is mental.acim free resources 

What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. That is a full world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There's no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the connection between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I've given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number 4, “These thoughts don't mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's talking about thoughts. First He's talking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts don't mean anything.” You will see he's wanting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, which can be trust.

The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there's no such thing as time, to take us back to that timeless moment that's the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That's the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all kinds of things. What kind of things would you spend money on, in this world.
