Now, you really want that job! Your fingers starts dancing on the keyboard, all excited to start, but how? With the exhausting rate of unemployment, it seems reasonable to just get any job. Well dream about it, make it happen! It definitely requires efforts, efforts, and more efforts. We give you 3 simple tips to begin with:
1) Know Your Dream Company Well – Do your researchYes, there you go! Browse their website. Check out and be fully alert of the company’s latest news. You want to be able to answer who they are and why you want to be there, with them. Know about the specific position that you are applying for. Know where you will be heading in the next 5 years, 10 years. You need to see yourself fit in that dream job of yours. It definitely helps if you have someone you know that works in that company. Drag them out and ask them what it is like to be working in the company. Know the culture. Impact, not impress!
I WANT THAT JOB ! 2) Approach themConnect. The traditional way is to send them 2 dozens of letters, but why the fuss? With the advancement of internet, you can just send them emails to show how much interest you have for the opening. Find them on their social media pages, leave a comment on post that caught your attention, re-tweet them.Attend their talks, conference, events. Show up and meet their representatives. Get their contact, exchange business cards and keep in touch. DO NOT ask them for a job.
3) Be PreparedYou are called for an interview! That’s great, but not the end yet. Find out about the interview, the structure and plan accordingly. Prepare a set of questions that they might ask you. Practice in front of a mirror and check your expressions. The tiniest expression you make might have a bonus impact to that job.Prepare a set of questions – to ask them! Don’t ramble on about irrelevant topics such as your thoughts on how and where the company should be heading (unless you are applying for a top management level job). Ask relevant questions to show that you are interested in the company.
