Attacker in Shenzhen given away by terrible body odor
An 18-year-old man who hid under a woman's bed planning to sexually assault her was given away by his own rank smell in Shenzhen. After memorizing the woman's schedule, the suspect broke into her dorm and hid under her bed, waiting for her to return from her night shift, according to a Want China Times report. When the 20-year-old woman surnamed Wang returned at around 1:00 p.m. on April 12, she went straight to bed and ignored the pungent scent in the room purely because she was too exhausted. The stench was so bad, however, that she couldn't fall asleep. She got up to open a window only to discover the source of the smell—a man hiding below her bed who was betrayed by his own natural odor (further disproving claims that Chinese people "don't have sweat glands" under their arms). As soon as the suspect was caught, he attempted to force himself on Wang but she fought back and screamed for help until neighbors rushed in the room. Li was arrested at the scene for attempted sexual assault.
