Sony to stop selling PSP and PS Vita this year#PSP

Sony is pulling the plug on its hand-held PlayStation Portable video game machine after 10 years.

The Japanese electronics and entertainment company has been pushing the successor machine, PlayStation Vita. Tokyo-based Sony said Tuesday that PSP shipments ended in North America in January, will end in Japan this month and later this year in Europe.

Discounts on Vita and downloads are offered to Japanese PSP owners, but are still undecided for those overseas.

More than 76 million PSP machines were sold, as of two years ago, the last time a tally was taken. The PSP went on sale in December 2004.

Machines devoted to games are struggling against the popularity of smartphones and other devices. Sony reported a $1.3 billion loss for last fiscal year and is expecting to stay in the red this year. Some analysts say the Vita has not sold in significant numbers. Sony does not release the cumulative global unit sales of the Vita and combines it with PSP tallies.

Sony’s handheld game machine also faced stiff competition from Japanese rival Nintendo Co.’s 3DS. But Nintendo has also struggled to keep momentum going for its game machines.

Nintendo tu pun terpaksa teruskan jugak 3DS tu pasal core bisnis diorg mmg game console/video gaming machine jah. Kalau Nintendo ada bisnes lain mcm smartphone atau petiais, mgkin diorg akan hentikan 3DS tu jugak.

tak kisah .. asalkan sony yg pull the magic plug dulu

tapi kalau nak diikutkan, nintendo pun memang slow jugak .. wii u aa kot yg slow berbanding xbox/ps .. 3ds masih ok lagi .. kot

tak lama pun takpe .. asalkan game smash bros+pokemon 3rd gen remake+monster hunter 4u tu kasi keluar dulu .. pastu nak melingkup - silakaaaan

Game console/video gaming machine is nearing end of its shelf life. Skarang nie org main game kat tablet/smartphone. It's really a 'game changer'.

Portable nie problem dia ialah limitation. Tak mcm game console, lebih meluas.

Dulu aku beli psp sebab ade monster hunter...skang nintendo..monster hunter 3u..skang akan ade monster hunter online versi PC

nintendo masih berharap pd 3ds tu.... nintendo wii u mmg jualan amat mengecewakan.....
survival nintendo pd game exclusive depa mcm mario.... maybe nintendo nasib mcm sega... hardware div kasi katup... create game jah....
mmg investor ade force nintendo kuarkan game utk mobile platform dlm ios n android... tp presiden die mmg ttp teguh gile pendirian...

taknak berganjak tuh.... aku mmg alu2kan mario ade dlm ipad ka..... mcm mario galaxy tu haha...... tua bangka pun mario ko hahah....
