Juruterbang dilapor aktifkan kod 'tango'



Seorang juruterbang berpengalaman mendakwa juruterbang MH370, Kapten Zaharie Shah telah mengaktifkan isyarat 'tango' 40 minit selepas pesawat itu dikesan hilang dari radar menara kawalan.

Katanya, kod rahsia 'tango' atau 'charlie' hanya diaktifkan apabila berlaku kecemasan seperti rampasan pesawat di udara, lapor Sinar Harian.

"Setiap juruterbang akan diingatkan mengenai isyarat-isyarat ini. Ia hanya boleh diaktifkan jika rampasan dan tidak pernah menjadi mainan mana-mana juruterbang sebelum ini. Ini etika kami sebagai juruterbang," beliau dipetik sebagai berkata.

Menurut juruterbang itu, kod tersebut diaktifkan untuk memberitahu Pusat Kawalan Trafik Udara Nasional (NATCC) berhubung masalah pengendalian pesawat yang memerlukan tindakan lanjut unit kawalan.

"Kita mempunyai kod rahsia masing-masing, tetapi 'tango' atau 'charlie' adalah sebagai pengenalan jika berlakunya rampasan,"katanya.

Bagaimanapun, apabila ditanya mekanisme isyarat itu dikeluar beliau enggan mendedahkan kerana maklumat itu sulit.

Sementara itu, harian itu juga melaporkan seorang pegawai perhubungan media MAS mengakui pihaknya mengeluarkan kod itu ekoran kehilangan pesawat tetapi ia tidak merujuk pada rampasan.

"Ya, kami telah mengisytiharkan kod 'tango' tetapi ia bukan bermaksud rampasan (pesawat). Itu mesej untuk kami meningkatkan lagi tahap keselamatan," katanya.

Missing MH370: Military radar tracked aircraft 200 miles northwest of Penang

After days of confusion over where the missing fl ight MH370 is or what happened to it, there is now a new twist with RMAF chief Tan Sri Rodzali Daud revealing that military radar tracked an aircraft that may have been the Malaysia Airlines jetliner to some 200 miles north-west of Penang, putting it at a spot between Phuket in Thailand and Aceh in Indonesia.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have been tracked by the military’s air defence radar to a spot 200 miles northwest of Penang, 45 minutes after the aircraft disappeared from civilian radar.
In a strange twist to the tale of the missing plane, Royal Malaysian Air Force chief Tan Sri Rodzali Daud said a review of the military’s radar data recording showed an “aircraft” that was last plotted at 2.15am on Saturday flying at 29,500ft above sea level.
“I am not saying that this is MH370, we are saying that we are working with the experts to determine this aircraft’s identity,” Rodzali told reporters.
He said the discovery raised the possibility that MH370 could have turned back after all radio and civilian radar contact was lost.
A position 200 nautical miles roughly northwest of Penang would put the plane off Phuket and Phi Phi islands in Thailand or near Aceh in Indonesia.
The Boeing 777-200, bound for Beijing with 239 passengers and crew, took off at 12.41am Saturday, its subsequent disappearance des-cribed as an unprecedented aviation mystery that continues to grab global attention.
Rodzali said the Malaysian military radar records were being referred to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Transportation Safety Board as well as the radar manufacturer for corroboration.
Military radar records from a neighbouring country also showed the presence of an aircraft on the same track, he added.
Asked why RMAF jets were not sent to intercept the aircraft as soon as it appeared on the military radar, Rodzali said the military radar operator tracked the trail of a civilian aircraft heading north.
“It was not classified as hostile. We only intercept and respond when the contact is classified as hostile.”
Department of Civil Aviation director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said civilian radar showed MH370 was cruising at 1.21am and the aircraft totally disappeared from the secondary radar at 1.30am.
“No communication...nothing at all,” he said when asked whether the Aircraft Communication and Reporting System (ACARS) had been lost.
The primary radar used by the military tracks objects without identifying them while the secondary radar communicates with the aircraft using the onboard transponder to identify it and its position.
“The defence primary radar (data) was analysed the same day (Satur-day) and is the reason why a search in the Straits of Malacca was conducted,” said Azharuddin.
He said DCA investigators were scrutinising all radar tracking data and aircraft records.
Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkefli Mat Zin said that when the Prime Minister instructed on Saturday for the search area to be widened, the military decided to review its air defence radar.
He said its data recordings showed a possibility that the aircraft made a turnback.
Zulkefli said the DCA radar data record in Kota Baru showed similar “blips” making the possibility of a “turnback” even higher.
“Can I take the risk of the aircraft turning back to the Straits of Malacca and not send some of my assets to that area?
“At the slightest possibility, I must respond,” he said.
Asked why it took five days to reveal where the aircraft may have last been tracked on radar, acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the data needed to be verified.
“If the FAA and NTSB find that the raw radar data from the military is (MH370), I would announce it the next day,” he said.
The search, which was originally focused over the South China Sea, has been expanded to include waters over the Straits of Malacca, with both areas covering 27,000sq nautical miles.
Azharuddin said it was possible for MH370 to have flown too low for radar to detect and that it could do so until it ran out of fuel.
He said the United Kingdom Aircraft Accident Investigation Branch and the aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce had asked to join the investigation, which he welcomed.

KOLKATA: Even as the world waits with bated breath to know about the fate of 239 passengers and crew on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that went missing five days ago, pilots of Indian carriers are uneasy over technical aspects of the incident that are yet unexplained.

Such is the sense of puzzlement and discomfort that it is the only subject of discussion in the fraternity. "Till the plane disappeared, there were discussions and debates on the crucial elections here less than a month from now. But all that has receded. The mystery of flight MH370 is the only subject being discussed in pilots' gatherings at airline offices and clubs around the country," said Jet Airways captain Sarvesh Gupta.

Both Jet Airways and Air India use Boeing B777-ER, identical to the Malaysia Airlines mystery plane, in overseas operations. While the plane has an excellent safety record, having been involved in only two accidents since its induction nearly 12 years ago, the latest mystery has rattled pilots who have their own theories but are anxious to find out if they are correct.



"It is an eerie feeling that will persist till the wreckage is found. It will take a couple of years or even more before investigation into the incident is completed and all the questions are answered. But the condition of the wreckage and its location will at least give preliminary clues on which basic conclusions can be drawn," Gupta told TOI from Jordan.

Captain Jaideep Banerjee concurred. "I have a theory like all pilots do about what happened on Saturday night. We are waiting for the wreckage to surface because it will either prove us right or wrong. If it is right, it means we are on the job. If not, it is a signal that we need to pull up our socks or look at aspects of the flight system that were unknown to behave in that manner before," he said.

Banerjee is convinced the plane disintegrated mid-air at 30,000 ft following a structural failure, giving the pilots no time to send a distress alert. "Had the pilot had time, even if he was beyond radio coverage, all he needed to do was just change the transponder code to 7700. That is the standard alert code," he said.

If a plane disintegrates at that altitude, it will be blown to smithereens and debris will scatter over 80-sq km radius. Even when the Air France flight 447 disappeared in June 2009, it took four days to locate the debris. But what either Banerjee or Gupta cannot make sense is why the Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT), a device that is on board the aircraft and switches on automatically to transmit signals to dedicated search and rescue satellites on impact with land or contact with water, is not functioning.

"B-777 has not one but four independent ELTs of two types. It seems fantastic that they would all have become inoperative. Unless, the plane hasn't crashed at all. It is this aspect that is most perplexing," said Banerjee.

In 2009, Banerjee had corrected surmised that a thunderstorm had iced the flight's instrumentation, triggering the crash. The crash report tabled after two-and-a-half years vindicated his theory.

This time, there are several other theories doing the rounds like the airplane going into a tailspin, diving headlong into water and getting stuck in the sea floor. The captains rule out the possibility. "The cross section of the aircraft's nose is 24 ft. If the plane dives headlong, it will disintegrate before hitting water," said Banerjee.

But what if there were experts on board who switched off the aircraft transponder, made the plane invisible to radars and then landed it somewhere. That the cell phones of 18 passengers are ringing when dialed has fueled such a theory.

"It is possible to make a plane disappear from radar. But in this case it is improbable because you need a large airstrip to land the plane. And how could you keep a B777 hidden. If the phones are really ringing, then the crash site is on land and not underwater where cell signals don't reach," said Gupta.

Gupta has been clued to all the theories including the plane doing a near U-turn after the transponder stopped emitting signals and travelling hundreds of kilometers towards the Malacca Strait."It is like the movie Airport 77 where a 747 was hijacked by art thieves and crashed into the ocean after encountering dense fog. I don't know if there were hijackers on board who took control of the plane but it is difficult to understand how a plane that big wasn't noticed by anyone when it veered off course for so long. Let's hope the wreckage is found to the east of the Malaysian peninsula early on Wednesday," he remarked.

Whatever be the ultimate answer to the case, when the crash report of the Malaysia Airline incident is finally out, the pilots believe it will lead to modification of aviation rules worldwide and have deep repercussion on flight safety norms and equipment. "None of us would want to be in the cockpit of that Malaysia Airlines cockpit. There were multiple systems that either failed or were sabotaged. The industry has to ensure that it does not recur," Banerjee added.

As a mark of respect to the passengers and crew of MH370 on 8 March 2014, the MH370 and MH371 flight codes will be retired from the Malaysia Airlines’ Kuala Lumpur- Beijing-Kuala Lumpur route.

With effect from 14 March 2014, the new flight number to replace MH370 and MH371 will be:-
MH 318 – Kuala Lumpur - Beijing
MH 319 – Beijing - Kuala Lumpur

There are no changes to the frequency of our services and we will continue to operate double daily services to Beijing.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families of our colleagues and passengers of MH 370.

Pengurus IT yakin temui imej MH370




Mike Seberger telah menemui imej ini dengan melayari imej-imej satelit di internet.



KUALA LUMPUR: Pengurus Teknologi Maklumat asal Amerika Syarikat, Mike Seberger mendakwa telah dapat mengesan imej pesawat MH370 milik Penerbangan Malaysia (MAS) yang hilang melalui penelitian beliau terhadap gambar-gambar satelit beresolusi tinggi, lapor Daily Mirror, semalam.  

Sebagai salah seorang yang terkesan dengan kehilangan misteri penerbangan MH370 itu, beliau cuba menjejaki kapal terbang yang hilang itu  dengan melayari internet.

Mike yakin telah berjaya mengesan kapal terbang yang hilang melalui gambar satelit beresolusi tinggi yang diambil dari permukaan laut di lokasi di mana kapal terbang itu dilaporkan hilang.  

Imej yang dikesan itu menunjukkan sebuah objek berbentuk kapal terbang terlindung oleh awan putih di satu lokasi di Teluk Siam, di kawasan Laut China Selatan.

Sebanyak 42 buah kapal laut dan 39 kapal terbang daripada 12 buah negara menyertai usaha mencari dan menyelamat kapal terbang boeing 777-200ER yang hilang dengan 239 penumpang.

Setelah 5 hari, usaha mencari dan menyelamat belum lagi membuah hasil.

Jika apa yang dijumpai Mike adalah tepat, ia satu kejayaan awal dalam merungkai misteri  yang menakjubkan pakar dunia penerbangan.

Mike Seberger, 47, berasal dari Chicago, Amerika Syarikat, mengesan objek misteri ini setelah melayari laman sesawang Tomnod, satu laman sesawang yang memuat naik imej-imej satelit yang diambil dari kawasan  meliputi keluasan 1,000 batu persegi pada hari kapal terbang MAS itu dilaporkan hilang.

latest berita yang akak dengar, ada sumber dr jabatan keselamatan memberitahu yang serpihan dan mayat2 telah ditemui berhampiran sebuah pulau di negeri perak. kebanyakkan mayat masih berada didalam badan pesawat dan memakai life jacket (sumber dari arm forces dari butterworth). sesiapa yang ada org dalam boleh tolong sahkan tak ??

penemuan dikatakan petang semalam @ 6.50 petang.

MH370: Pesawat terbang selama empat jam dari lokasi terakhir ia dikesan -WSJ

KUALA LUMPUR: Pesawat MH370 yang hilang sejak Sabtu lepas berkemungkinan terbang selama empat jam daripada lokasi dan waktu terakhir ia dikesan.

Menurut laporan The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), penyiasat penerbangan dan para pegawai keselamatan percaya pesawat itu berada di udara untuk jumlah masa lima jam termasuk sejam daripada lokasi terakhir ia berlepas. Ia berdasarkan data yang dimuat turun secara automatik dan dihantar oleh enjin pesawat Boeing 777 itu.

Ia adalah sebahagian daripada program peyelenggaraan dan pemantauan rutin syarikat itu.

Masa penerbangan sebanyak lima jam selepas berlepas dari Kuala Lumpur bererti pesawat itu mampu terbang dengan jarak tambahan kira-kira 2,200 batu nautika . Ia boleh terbang sehingga  Lautan Hindi, sempadan Pakistan atau Lautan Arab , berganttung kepada kelajuan pesawat tersebut.

WSJ turut mengesahkan bahawa juruterbang boleh mematikan transponder, iaitu alat yang memancarkan isyarat pergerakan pesawat.

Laporan itu berkata pihak penyiasat keganasan Amerika Syarikat sedang menyiasat kemungkinan juruterbang pesawat itu atau individu lain yang berada di atas pesawat itu mematikan transponder untuk mengelakkan radar pesawat itu dikesan.

Setakat ini, pegawai keselamatan Amerika Syarikat berkata tiada petunjuk bahawa kejadian itu ada kaitan dengan keganasan walupun mereka tidak mengenepikan kemungkinan itu.

Walaubagaimanapun, persoalan ke manakah pesawat itu menghala dan mengapa ia terbang untuk waktu yang lama tanpa menghidupkan transponder, telah menyebabkan pelbagai teori dikemukakan oleh para penyiasat.

MH370: Pasukan SAR tidak temui petanda di kawasan yang dikesan satelit China

KUALA LUMPUR: Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Penerbangan Malaysia, Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman mengesahkan tiada sebarang petanda ditemui pasukan operasi mencari dan menyelamat (SAR) dikawasan objek terapung yang dikesan satelit China, lapor APTN.

"Tidak ada apa-apa, kami ke lokasi tersebut, tidak ada apa-apa," katanya kepada wartawan.

Sebelum ini, Ketua Penerbangan Awam China, Li Jianxiang  berkata tiada bukti objek terapung yang dikesan satleit itu di Laut China Selatan berkaitan dengan pesawat MH370 Malaysia yang hilang

Awal hari ini, CNN juga melaporkan satelit China mendakwa menemui tiga objek berukuran sekitar 13 kali 18 meter, 14 kali 19 meter dan 24 kali 22 meter yang terapung di perairan Laut Cina Selatan yang dipercayai mempunyai kaitan dengan kehilangan pesawat MH370.

Ia berkedudukan di koordinat  longitud 105 perpuluhan 63 darjah timur, 6 perpuluhan 7 darjah utara pada latitud.

Pemangku Menteri Pengangakutan Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein melalui akaun Twitternya hari ini mengesahkan Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) telah menghantar pesawat pelbagai guna Bombardier ke kawasan Laut China Selatan, tempat tiga objek dikesan satelit China.

CNN juga Sebuah pesawat Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) telah dihantar ke kawasan tiga objek dikesan satelit China.

Laporan tersebut memetik sumber daripada TUDM yang tidak mempunyai kebenaran untuk membuat kenyataan memaklumkan kepada mereka.
