1. Sienna Miller
Taking the top spot in our list is the lovely Sienna Miller. She ranks first not because she’s more famous than all the others, or because it’s somehow more surprising to learn that she was an Abercrombie model. No, it’s pretty much just because, of all the celebs who started out as Abercrombie models, she’s the only one we know for sure appeared nekkid.
2. Ashton Kutcher
Sure, you know America’s favorite doofus/Mila Kunis’s extremely lucky boyfriend was a model before he made it big on That 70s Show. But did you know he was an Abercrombie model?
Oh, you did. Well then, nevermind.
3. Jennifer Lawrence
If Channing Tatum is Hollywood’s “it boy” du jour, then Jennifer Lawrence is the “it girl.” As for her days as an Abercrombie model, Lawrence says that they never actually used any of her photos in ads. That sounds kind of absurd to me, given how hot Jennifer Lawrence is. But I really have no other choice than to take her word for it.
4. Channing Tatum
Man, what didn’t Channing Tatum do before becoming Hollywood’s newest “it boy”? Thanks to Magic Mike, we all know the guy used to be a stripper. Now we learn he used to be an Abercrombie model, too?
5. January Jones
Personally, I can’t tell for sure that this is actually Mad Men actress January Jones. But the internet says it is, and that’s good enough for me.
6. Malin Ackerman
Swedish-Canadian hottie Malin Ackerman never has hit it really big. Instead, you’ll mostly just see her in bit parts, cast as “the hot blonde chick.”
7. Kellen Lutz
If you’re a grown man over the age of 25, you are very likely saying to yourself, “who the hell is Kellen Lutz? That name sounds totally made up.” If, on the other hand, you are a female under the age of 25—in which case, hello there, and welcome to Refined Guy!—then you know damn well that Kellen Lutz is one of those Twilight actors.
8. Doutzen Kroes
Much like our previous former Abercrombie model, for some reason I find it amusing that a Victoria’s Secret Angel—essentially the epitome of models—started out in Abercrombie advertisements.
9. Tom Welling
Who is Tom Welling, you ask? Why, only the guy who played Clark Kent/Superman on Smallville. Didn’t you ever wonder what Superman would have looked like as a laid back surfer dude with long hair wearing a pullover fleece from the late 90s?
10. Hilary Rhoda
Doing a list of celebrities who are models that includes models is pretty much like doing a list of celebrities who are athletes that includes athletes—i.e., it’s kind of cheating. I decided to include models anyway, however, because they are models, and I find that people usually don’t object to looking at pictures of them. Besides, Hilary Rhoda here isn’t just a model. She’s a supermodel.
11. Elettra Wiedemann
I’m not entirely sure if Elettra Wiedemann is famous in her own right, or simply because she’s the daughter of Isabella Rosselini and the granddaughter of Ingrid Bergman. But hey, even if her parentage is the only reason she’s famous, that’s still good enough for me. Because here she is in an Abercrombie ad, looking all sultry.
12. Lindsay Lohan
I guess Lilo didn’t actually get her start as an Abercrombie & Fitch model, since she has pretty much been a child start since forever. But here she is anyway on an Abercrombie shopping bag some time in the mid- to late-90s, so young, so innocent, so free from the influence of illegal narcotics. It almost brings a tear to your eye, doesn’t it?
