Kia Sorento SUV facelifted, interior upgraded

Kia’s large Sorento SUV has been facelifted, and will go on sale later this year. According to Kia, changes include a re-engineered bodyshell, enhanced powertrains for best-in-class fuel economy with lower emissions, improved ride, handling and refinement, plus additional convenience and safety features, besides the looks of course.

“Since its introduction in 2009, the second-generation Kia Sorento has achieved more than 620,000 sales around the world. Today, it is manufactured in Korea and the US, attracting over 130,000 US customers last year to rank as the best-selling Kia model in the States for the second year in a row,” said Thomas Oh, Kia’s Executive Vice President & COO of the International Busines Division.



“We have given very careful attention to owners’ feedback, and the upgraded Sorento is not just a comstic exercise but a major step forward for our popular SUV,” Oh added.

Looks wise, there are new new headlamps with LED positioning lights, a new tailgate with LED rear combination lamps, new bumpers (front and rear) with vertical-axis fog lights and a larger area of body-colour surface, and an expanded choice of wheels to include larger diameter (19-inch) alloys.



Inside the five or seven-seater cabin, there are more soft-touch surfaces plus a new LCD instrument cluster, new centre stack with seven-inch display screen, and a new console featuring a straight-gate selector with a leather-booted lever on automatic transmission models.

Offered in black or beige cloth or leather, the interior can be bathed in natural light through a larger optional panoramic sunroof with no centre cross beam and a powered blind. No interior pic was released, though, so we’ll have to wait.

In term of engine I prefer Santa Fe Hyundai.
Sorrento not so responsive.

Just wanna share since it's about KIA Sorento. However sorento aku ni model year 2013, 3.5 V6 petrol...tapi bukan full option model. Anyways model ni mmg tak masuk mesia. Left hand drive since kat qatar ni drive belah kiri.

In term of performance....3.5 v6...what do ya all expect? bunyi dah macam enjin V8..kalau pakai exaust sporty lagi jelas bunyi enjin tu.

Kalau full option model:
-Panoramic roof
-keyless entry n push start button.
-seat heater
-all pillars air bag (middle option model pun ada)
-4 parking sensors in front, 4 parking sensors at rear (middle option model pun ada)
-rear camera parking view with lcd on ICE console.
-HID projector headlight.
-19" alloy wheels. (middle option model equipped with 17" alloy wheels)
-PVC leather seats.
-foldable side mirrors on push button.(middle option model pun ada).
-fuel tank lid using push button instead of convensional type..jenis tarik lever tu.(middle option model pun ada).

-for 2013 models full & middle option models...interface pada meter panel is completely eletronic..even jarum rpm n jarum speedometer. 'Outside temperature' on panel meter as well. Seriously interface meter panel dia cukup bagus...so engineered! Ko leh set kan service timing clock...and so on.

-autoclimate a/c (middle option model pun ada).
-auto 4wheel lock or manual 4 wheel lock pakai push button. Over than 60kmh secara automatic 4wheel system will unlock itself.(middle option model pun ada)
-traction control on/off button (middle option model pun ada).
-tiptronic 6 speed auto transmission gear.(middle option model pun ada) bagai gear lever....tadak shifting paddle pada stearing macam optima 3.0.(middle option model pun ada)
-petrol tank rasa2 macam 70-80liters capacity. sebab aku isi minyak kat sini rega QR1/liter...so senang nak kira walaupun trip meter dia pakai technology cam panel meter gen2...bley calculate remaining petrol n how kms you can go.(middle option model pun ada)
-oh yea...ada option button for ECO on fuel or non-ECO...kira option 'sporty' or 'mild' driving la nih.(middle option model pun ada)
-auto cruise button.(middle option model pun ada)

Btw, basic chassis sorento version baru ni...sharing chasis design with hyundai model Santa Fe. termasuk enjinnya juga...kalau tgk kat enjinnya ada dua logo kecik Hyundai & Kia.

Tatau la di malaysia camne...tapi kat qatar ni ada yg model 5 seaters only....dan ada yang 5 + 2 seats...macam grand livina tu. Tapi kat sini yang masuk semernya model 3.5 V6.

same engine lor...i mean 3.5lit V6 petrol....both KIA sorento n hyundai santa Fe using the same engine since they're sharing the same chassis as well.
