IDE and SATA Hdd problem

Ok. Cutting things short, kisahnya macam ni.

Initially my pc ade:
LITE-ON DVDRW LH-16A1S ATA device (Volume 0 - F) with a.250GB Maxtor DiamondMax 21 SATA disk which ade the following volumes:

-> Volume 1 (C) Primary Disk NTFS Partition 100GB
-> Volume 2 (D) Secondary Disk NTFS Partition 100GB
-> Volume 3 (E) Back-up Disk NTSF 50GB

*Sooooomeeething like that la - am bad with all these so am just saying all these as simple as i can so hang in there with me...

All are fitted on a ABIT LG-95C Motherboard which kalau tak sillap, supports SATA connectors as well as the IDE Channels 1 and 2. Ok, now, as it has always been,

-> Volume 1 (C) is running Windows Vista Ultimate OS with all other system files yadey yadey yadey.
-> Volume 2 (D) contains all 50++ downloaded/ saved-from-dvd movies for safe keeping...
-> Volume 3 (E) is technically, well, empty, expect ade la sikit2 file2 backup...

Both the disks (DVD and SATA) are connected using the sleek SATA connector tu...

And then the day came when I didn't know what I was doing, wanting to do dual booting, with Vista installed first, and having XP installed second, something went wrong somewhere I guess... I followed this guide...

Masalahnye, after switch off tu kan, nah - terus, hang - hang like how? Page boots up until part BIOS tu jer - and then, thats it. I cant press DEL to enter setup, i cant even do anything with F8 key. Jdi mrasalah my pc langsung tak leh boot on disk ke ape ke kan...

Did all the CMOS resetting la apa la itu ini all 101 types of methods dah cuba - still dont want to boot. Cannot load pun the hard disk right after bios page detected the hdd. Hurmmm

Then I bukak that SATA hdd, and I replaced with my 80GB IDE hardisk and walla - all is ok dah. The IDE disk is connected using the IDE connecter, with the connecting piece from IDE flat ribbon cable to the SATA outlet and stuff it kat DVDRW as SATA CHANNEL 2 Slave and the 80GB on Channel 1 IDE Master. So semuanya ok.

After dah reinstall OS semua dalam that new HDD 80GB tu, I tried masukkan balik the 250SATA hdd tu and since the 80GB IDE tu dah set as primary, i tot no problem la to read the sata hdd tu. Dahhhhhh dia hang pulak dah macam before... apasal eh??? Takkan HDD tu problemo? If so, i just nak save yang the  Volume 2 (D) tu jer - how eh? What should I do? How can i save this hdd???

rasanya bahaya nk dualboot vista/xp ni sebab slalu jugak ada masalah boot.
lebih2 lagi ada sata & ide.

better check yor BIOS which hdd u want to boot.
make sure smua hdd detected in BIOS.

kalo okey then baru kita cari solution how to make bootscreen selection appear on boot. atau pun cari ja;an utk enablekan smula F8 key tu.

dah udah dah... dah buat semuanya tu. Tapi asalkan i connect the sata hdd jer terus tak leh nak masuk setup. Isk. takkan kot my hdd 250 tu yang kaput walhal tak der pa per pon in it. haiyoh. I just want the movies and downloaded stuffs jer kalau lepas tu dia nak kaput also nevermind dah...

make sure bios detect all hdd? Yes - bios detected all hdd kalau i connect sekali dengan the 250 sata tu tapi itu la, asal connect yang sata hdd tu jer, terus hang. Cabut buang, tinggalkan the ide master and dvd tu jer, ha, boleh la pulak. Isk... camno la camno... hiks!

conflict between xp - vista le tu. kene cari balik boot.ini tengok balik dia primary boot kat mana.

macam mana nak carik balik/ access it sedangkan it jams right at bios? any suggestion eh?

remove the problematic hdd from boot option dalam bios tu.

let it be as secondary hdd. try boot yor pc and see if windows can detect n browse it.

kalo nk istall xp ngan vista..

kena install xp dulu..

pastu baru install vista kat partition len..

ko install vista ngan xp kat partition yg sama ke??

tp patutnya sekurang-kurangnya leh lepas bios kalo hdd xmslh..

skang ni mslhnya bios jem bila detect hdd tuh..

cuba try hdd tu kat komputer lain..

i tot sata hdd takder master/ slave ie primary or secondary? Anyways, i dah buat dah pun setup utk ide hdd tu as master, dvdrw tu yang guna sata cable gak tu as secondary ie slave la kot kan, with 1st boot is from dvdrw and 2nd boot is from the ide hdd tu, meaning, tak include langsung the sata hdd 250gb tu, and the pc, walaa, berjaya. Akan tetapi, if I were to buat macam mana sekali pun la kan with the hdd sata 250gb tu, connect using sata channel 4 lah, 3 lah, and dah make sure dah its not on the same connector with theprimary hdd tu, TETAP it hangs on bios after detecting all hdds... how to browse the hdd?

Errrr can meh Sata hdd on motherboard ide? i tot ide hdd jer yang stil boleh bersama dengan motherboard sata?

bukan secondary as in IDE terms. tapi as second hddisk on yor pc la.

maybe kabel SATA tu dah rosak kot. try kabel sata lain?

most of motherboard skrg support IDE & sata together. just like mine.
using IDE for xp and other sata for storage.

doesnt matter ide or sata. as long mobo (motherboard) detect the hdd, u can always install an OS's, let it be vista, xp, linux or whatever. as long as u know how to do it.

latest mobo can "convert" sata to IDE. in other words ; treat sata as IDE.
easier words = ignore the difference of SATA & IDE.

guna kabel sama. kalo takleh, baru guna kabel lain.

kalo pc lain tu dah detect, perform checkdisk (full servis).
