This something happened to me recently. Ermmm malas nk edit I just quote from my blog ajerlah yer
This morning I went to a goverment-linked-company to collect my offer letter from them. Sampai sana the HR officer was in a meeting, so she gave me the offer letter for me to read first and will entertain me later for any q&a. So I gave a screening, check the salary offered, the job grade, benefits and bla bla.
So after waiting like an hour ada sorang HR datang. So tanya itu ini begitu begini, I asked about maternity. Since Im 6 months pregnant, the maternity will be cover or not. Terus HR tuh cam tergamam jap (at that time ku wonder takkan dier tak nampak my perot kan???). Pastu dia cam serba salah, katanya kene masuk dalam and tanya the manager apa kene buat. Masa tu aku dah rasa tak sedap hati.
After a few minutes waiting, he did come back with another clique. Upon the HR tuh duduk jer, dia terus cakap....WE NEED TO RETRIEVE BACK THE OFFER. OUR POLICY DO N OT HIRE PREGNANT WOMAN. WE DO NOT BEING DISCRMINATE BUT ITS OUR POLICY And depan2 mata aku, my offer letter teros kene amik.
Tergamam, terkejut & speechless.
The HR tanya kenapa aku tak bgtau awal2. And I was likeee.....apa bendanya tak bgtahu awal. I declared my pregnancy in the interview form. I never hide anything. The simple answer gave by the HR?? Oooo terlepas pandang laaa tu.
I just couldnt understand. Im only pregnant, not mentally retarded.
Takpelah, rezki untuk aku Insya Allah ada dimana2. Anak dalam perut nie pon rezeki dari Allah jua. And rezki bukan in money ajer kan? Good health, good family & good friends also considered as rezki. |

lerrrr.... teruknya company tu. but apa masalah derang tak boleh nak appoint perempuan mengandung ye? job tu kena pergi ke site ke? kena outstation ke? |

ada laks gni.. patutnya ko kena amek surat tu.. and then.. lapor kat jabatan buruh gtu. (ada lagi ke jabatan buruh) kementerian sumber manusia @ PPIM ker.. sure mesti jadi case nie.. atau ko report kat kementerian hal ehwal wanita. klu ada surat tu sure.. ada bukti.. mesti jadi case lah.. mana bleh gni.. case menganiya.. tu diaorg nye salah.. bukan ko since ko da mention u are pregnant..ada ke case mcm ni.. aiseyyyy....:@:@:@:@:@ |

Rasanya memang ada kene kuar pi supplier punya kilang. But thats not a problem. Kalau tak boleh pegi luar KL, I still manage to do the same utk area KL & Selangor.
Even current job pon I buat camni |

maybe they can't afford to find another replacement (temporary staff) to cover during the maternity within short period after hiring you. but... they can always quote that diaorang ade policy this and that, maybe just to create reason je... |

cina kalau x amik bangsa sendiri, sape lagi nak tolong diorang? government punye policies kan banyak favour to bumis? tapi tu la, kita as a bumi, tak bole la selalu nak mengharapkan pertolongan, and bila tak dpt sesuatu, blame it on org taknak tolong kite... |

bingung la company tu..bagi nama company tu..bukan apa..nanti senang nak habaq kat orang lain..keburukan company yg tahap glc kunun tapi hampeh..
to blueiris, ini bukan kes nak tolong bumi ke tak, tapi kes sikap yg bingung..dan diskriminasi ke atas mereka yg mengandung..kalau mak hang or bini hang kena pecat sebab mengandung hang buleh terima ke? kalau adik hang nak minta kerja tak dapat sebab mengandung hang buleh terima ke??jgn ikut bingung jugak ok... |

eh jap... jgn la nak marah2. masalahnye dia bukan kena pecat, tak start keje lagi. kalau baca komen i betul2, i tak cakap pun i sokong the company, i cuma mentioned pasal kisah tolong melayu je as a reply to an earlier comment by one forumner.
kalau kena pecat mase dah keje, memang la tak bole, bole bawak ke court kan. tapi ni belum, no contract ever existed, so the least she colud do was to request to sight the policy and kalau xde the said policy, then bole bawak gi court. and personally i think the company is not doing the right thing, they should be clear on why they tarik balik the offer, and not simply quoted that they have the so-called policy |

dah bagi LO amik balik nak retrieve the offer!!
mmg tak professional HRD nya since nko dah mention bagai dalam application form
my sis last year pregnant 6months,
dia dapat offerkeje kat kilang yg well known gak
and diaorg siap cover maternity dia & prepare pengganti dia siap2
in ur case, aku rasa that GLC co sgtlah tak professional... |
