RMK-9 berakhir 2010, so RMK-10 shud start after that...2010-2015...
Kalau RMN ni payah sikit dia nak peroleh Russian systems samada Buk atau S-300/400...sebab tradisi menggunakan western-made systems yg kuat.. |

Russia to sell brand-new air defence systems to unnamed foreign customer
LENGTH: 499 words
Excerpt from report by corporate-owned Russian military news agency Interfax-AVN website
Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) 22 April: The Ulyanovsk mechanical plant, a part of the [Russian defence] corporation Almaz-Antey, has received first orders for the supply of the new air-defence missile complex Buk-M2E.
"The air-defence missile complex Buk-M2E is an absolutely new system. It has not been exported, but there is a signed contract with a certain country, and we are going to supply it to the first foreign customer soon," Interfax-AVN was told by the director-general of the Ulyanovsk mechanical plant, Vyacheslav Lapin, on Tuesday [22 April] at the DSA 2008 11th Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference held in Malaysia. He did not specify the name of country he was talking about.
According to Lapin, there is a certain portfolio of orders for the Buk-M2E and some of the contracts have even been initialled.
"We have about 13 preliminary orders for the supply of this complex, they are now being processed," Lapin said.
The Buk-M2E has good prospects at the South-East Asian market, that is why the decision was made to showcase the complex at the defence show in Malaysia, he noted. [Passage omitted]
"The new Buk-M2E has a modern information display system based on the new element base and liquid-crystal indicators. The Buk-M2E armaments are equipped with the system of radar recognition of seven types of air targets, including hovering helicopters. This has increased the complex's effectiveness by 100-300 per cent. The complex has become easier to use. The Buk-M2E can shoot at up to four targets simultaneously, while the Buk-M1-2 [previous modification] has a single-target channel. The number of targets that can be destroyed by the complex has risen from six to 24," Lapin said.
The new Buk-M2E can highly effectively destroy precision weapons which represent the greatest danger for air defence systems. Its jamming protection is much better.
"The Buk-M2E is equipped with a phased array antenna which allows it to lead and destroy up to four targets using complex's one armament," Lapin said.
The Buk-M2E's developer, the Tikhomirov Science and Research Institute of Instrument-Making has envisaged the possibility of integrating the complex with the S-300 and Tor air defence systems. [Passage omitted]
According to Lapin, a Buk-M2E fitted with a wheel-base is being developed under the aegis of the Almaz-Antey corporation.
"We are going to introduce this version of the complex to the market, and to be ready to export it, by the end of 2010, Lapin said. [Passage omitted]
"The wheeled version does not damage roads; it is more mobile although it carries out the same tasks. We will offer the Buk-M2E both in fully-tracked and wheeled modifications. That is how it is done with the Tor missile systems. By the way, the Buk-M2E will be fitted with the same wheel base as the Tor systems," Lapin said.

Jangan GAPU meroyan pergi beli KS-1 sudah...
In 2005, a senior officer of Malaysia's armed forces said that Malaysia had in principle agreed to purchase the KS-1A missile from China. Both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding beforehand and such purchase will be listed into Malaysia's ninth development plan.
The KS-1 (Kaishan-1) is a medium- to long-range, all-altitude surface-to-air missile (SAM) system developed by China Jiangnan Space Industry Co. (also known as Base 061). The KS-1 development programme began in the early 1980s to replace the ageing HQ-2 (Chinese copy of the Russian SA-2 Guideline). |
