Kang Ma Eh is an orchestra conductor in his 40's. He is an elite workaholic conductor with a very bad reputation, and who will do absolutely anything in order to create the very best music. However,due to his self-righteous and stubborn personality that makes him think only his thoughts are correct, he is unable to form good relationships with those around him. He also is insists that classical music is made for nobility only. Lee Ji Ah plays 27 year old Du Ru Mi, a frank and lively talented girl who plays the violin by ear. She may seem womanly and elegant on the surface but she is tomboyish girl who even dares to share adult videos with her male friends. Kim Myung Min will be making his comeback to the small screen in the 16-episode MBC mini series "Beethoven Virus" (Script Hong Jin Ah, Hong Ja Ram; PD Lee Jae Gyu), set to air in July.
Kim Myung Min will be playing Kang Gun Woo, an orchestra conductor in his 40's. Gun Woo is a 'workaholic' and has a very troublesome personality, and thus seems similar to the character of Jang Joon Hyuk in the drama "White Tower". Kim Myung Min has gotten the opportunity to harden his acting skills by playing another unique character. "Beethoven Virus" draws the story of people who've been abandoned by music, and have abandoned music themselves, and who create an orchestra and encounter many difficulties. This story will be based on the popular Japanese manga "Nodame Cantabille", and will concentrate on classical music.
Lee Ji Ah will playing the role of 27 years old "Du Ru Mi", a frank and lively talented girl who plays the violin by the ear. She may seem womanly and elegant on the surface but she is actually gross and unhygienic girl who can go on days without bathing.
The script is by the Hong Jin Ah-Hong Ja Ram sisters, who wrote "Taereung National Village" and "Over the Rainbow", and the PD is Lee Jae Gyu,who directed "Damo" and "Fashion 70s".

Joining Kim Myung Min in the upcoming MBC drama Beethoven Virus is Lee Jia, the Korean-American who made a huge splash with her acting debut as Bae Yong Joon抯 love interest Sujini in last year抯 fantasy-historical epic Legend [Taewangsashingi].
In Beethoven Virus, Kim Myung Min portrays a strong-willed, perfectionist orchestra conductor, while Lee Jia has been cast as a violinist with a 搑efined? and 揻eminine? outward appearance but a lively and mischievous personality. She抯 started taking violin lessons to appear natural with the instrument.
The Wednesday-Thursday drama will air in July and is brought to you by some notable people: director Lee Jae Kyu of Damo and Fashion 70s and writers Hong Jin Ah and Hong Jaram. This pair of Hong sisters ? not the ones who penned My Girl or Hong Gil Dong ? also wrote kpop-centric Over the Rainbow and sports-themed Taereung National Village.
Perhaps the mere topic of classical music has linked the drama in viewers? minds with popular Japanese manga (and later drama) Nodame Cantabile, which was also popular with Korean fans. That, combined with the high profile of the actors and producers involved, leads to a building buzz around Beethoven Virus.
