Baby 6: Top Ten Celebrity Babies Born in 2006

Baby #6 is David Banda Ritchie. David's actual birthday was in 2005, but his Gotcha/Adoption Day was in 2006.

David's adoption in October incited national media attention and political debates, including the petitioning of Malawian civil rights activists, who tried to block David's adoption and are still fighting to have the adoption process ended. Should Madonna, an international pop star and her husband, film director Guy Ritchie, be allowed to take a poverty-stricken African boy and raise him as their own? Controversy ensued following comments from David's biological father, Yohane Banda, who actually broke the story telling the world that his son David was being adopted by the pop phenom, after much speculation and many denials from her PR camp. He later stated that he didn't know Madonna would keep David with her. We think it's very important to note that this was after the Ritchies offered to financially provide for the tyke if his father wanted to raise him himself in Malawi but he wasn't interested.

Despite the drama, David resides with his new family, splitting his time between the U.S. and London and learning what it means to be the son of the Material Girl.

He joins big sister Lourdes Leon, 10, and Rocco Ritchie, 6.

Baby 7: Top Ten Celebrity Babies Born in 2006

Baby #7 is Moses Martin

Named after a song his father, Chris Martin (of the British band Coldplay), wrote about his mother, actress and celebrity baby Gwyneth Paltrow, baby boy Moses Martin entered into the world under the unusual moniker of Moses, the great divider of the red sea. Compared to his big sister, Apple, his name didn't make quite as big a splash. He was born Saturday April 8th, weighing 8 lbs, 4 oz, by cesearean section, at Mount Sinai (how fitting!).

Moses made his pictorial debut on his first trip home from the hospital. He made a more official debut in People magazine, as top celebrity babies tend to do. As a member of the third generation of Hollywood hot shots, Moses can look forward to many more Hollywoodish anomolies. Coming from a family that has homes in Los Angeles, New York, and London, Moses is also a very well traveled little guy, who runs in tight celebrity circles. As a second time mom, it appears that Gwyneth has tried to shield him more from cameras so we haven't seen much of the little guy but we hope to see much more as he enters his second year!

Baby 8: Top Ten Celebrity Babies Born in 2006

The Celebrity Baby Blog's #8 baby is Henry Chance Aronofsky.

This SoHo baby, born to an Oscar winner (actually pregnant with him during her win) and a film director dad, was born on May 31. Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky's son will grow up a true New Yorker, having been slung around the city for the duration of his short life. Ever the city baby, Henry is often seen in one of his many strollers like the Stokke Xplory or Jacardi for Peg Perego Pliko P3 Nursery 2006 collection stroller,

Henry will no doubt spend a lot of time on movie sets, possibly setting him up for a life either in front of or behind the camera.

The yet-to-be-seen second son of Britney Spears and her soon-to-be ex-husband Kevin Federline, entered the world on September 12, only two days before his older brother Sean Preston's first birthday. Jayden's much anticipated pictorial debute has only been fueled by the confusion concerning his actual gender and name. Rumored to be a baby boy named Sutton Pierce, Jayden made headlines as the world finally realized that baby Federline was not the name he had been called for more than a month. Time will only tell when Britney will present Jayden to the world (there were rumors that she was either selling them to People OR giving away to a more prestigious glossy magazine), but the drama for this little guy is only beginning as his parents enter divorce proceedings and a custody battle concerning he and his brother, less than two months after his birth.
