Angelina Jolie collapses on set
Pregnant superstar Angelina Jolie has sparked a health fear by collapsing and cutting her head, according to reports in the US.
The stunning actress is said to have collapsed while trying to keep up a schedule of long hours filming despite admitting to being five months pregnant with Brad Pitt's child.
Now the reports say a doctor has even put her on a "high risk pregnancy alert
"Brad's worried sick about her," a source told American magazine Star.
"She looks really frail and she's pale and gaunt. I heard her doctor has put her on a high risk pregnancy alert and Brad has been trying to persuade her to go on a bed rest.
"But she won't hear any of it."
The source added: "She has suffered from very violent morning sickness. She could hardly keep her food down and she's been suffering from fainting and dizzy spells.
"Brad doesn't want to leave her side and is clucking around her like a mother hen.
"Brad is really the mothering kind and he's not going too let anything happen to her or the unborn baby."
Brad is not the only one who is allegedly concerned about the Tomb Raider star.
"I heard that her doctor has warned Angelina that she's not to drive or to fly on her own, and that she must have an adult with her at all times in case she passes out," the source told Star.
Physicians warn that she has to take things easy.
Dr Steven Goldstein, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology in New York, has not treated the star, but warned: "She may be pushing herself too hard.
"She needs to listen to the ebb-and-flow of her body's rhythms - how she's feeling and what it's telling her."
A source added: "It sounds like Angelina has high blood sugar and is also anemic. She's working with a nutritionist and taking supplements."
Despite the concerns, doctors say Angelina's highly-visible veins in her arms are not anything to be worried about, merely being a sign of a pregnant woman's increased blood supply and extra body heat generated during pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Brad is reportedly being considered for a role with the UN by the body's secretary general, Kofi Annan.
Angelina is already a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and Brad has accompanied her on several of her official visits.
Annan said he would consider it "and let [Brad] know", according to the World Entertainment News Network. |
