PETALING JAYA: Reports have been coming in of traffic crawls and jams as thousands try to return to their hometowns despite the movement control order.
Traffic flow from the capital heading north and south of the PLUS Highway has started to slow down on Thursday (May 21), ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri weekend.
According to a PLUS highway spokesperson, traffic has started to build up slowly on major highways since 8am, with slow traffic recorded in those areas.
"We found that traffic has been slow at the NKVE toll, as well as the road before entering the Bukit Raja toll.
"Traffic is also slow at the Lembah Beringin stretch heading towards Tanjong Malim.
"There is also a 1km-stretch from KLIA towards Bandar Serenia," said the spokesman on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) posted on Twitter that traffic was slow from Lembah Beringin to Tanjung Malim due to police roadblocks.
Traffic was also slow from Southville City to Putra Mahkota at about 11.43am due to another roadblock.
