Mengaku ahli Umno, Zarul tak akan saman Rahman Dahlan


Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan telah 'menyerang' Konsortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd, firma yang dianugerahkan projek tiga jalan utama dan terowong bawah laut di Pulau Pinang buat kali ketujuh.

Namun, firma itu tidak akan menyaman menteri di jabatan perdana menteri itu, kata pengerusinya, Datuk Zarul Ahmad Zulkifly.

"Saya beretika. Saya ahli Umno dan tidak akan menyaman ahli Umno yang lain, saya tidak berbuat demikian," kata Zarul dalam sidang akhbar bersama Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Lim Guan Eng.

Zarul berkata, beliau adalah ahli Umno yang aktif di cawangan Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur.

Jelas Zarul, pihaknya menyedari Rahman yang merupakan ketua pasukan komunikasi strategik BN mengkritik projek berkenaan pada 10 Mei, 21 Mei, 24 Mei, 9 Jun dan 26 Julai tahun lepas.

"Kami telah memberi maklum balas atas isu-isu yang dibangkitkannya berulang kali, tetapi beliau terus menyerang," keluh Zarul.

"Saya peniaga Bumiputera yang tulen, saya tidak lakukan perniagaan Alibaba, jadi saya berasa sangat terluka apabila beliau (Rahman) berbuat demikian," tambah Zarul.

"Kenapa tak henti-henti menyerang saya, apa salah yang saya buat kepadanya,?" soal Zarul.

Zarul merujuk kepada sidang akhbar Rahman pada Selasa yang lalu dengan memetik surat dari Lembaga Jurutera Persekutuan (BEM) bagi menyokong dakwaan Pulau Pinang membayar empat kali lebih tinggi daripada kadar diwartakan maksimum untuk yuran reka bentuk terperinci tiga jalan yang dikaitkan dengan Terowong bawah laut.

Instead of replying and possibly incriminating himself, Tokong and DAP has now pushed out Zarul, the owner and CEO of Consortium Zenith to defend against BNSC's claim that the studies were not overpriced.

His defence is three parts:
1) Zarul is a UMNO member and hence he will not sue Rahman Dahlan because he is a UMNO member.

2) He was already investigated by MACC last year. Hovewer, last year the full fees were not yet paid. Now it is.

3) Thirdly, he says that the Penang branch of the Institute of Engineers (IEM) told him that the fees were not excessive.

The Penang Chapter of the IEM is just an association of engineers lah. It is like asking the association of property developers if their houses are too expensive or not.

The Board of Engineers, however is the properly legally-authorized body to determine the scale of fees. No way you can justify consulting fees of RM220 million for 20km of roads.

BNSC's evidence is a written reply from the Board of Engineers.

Think ppl so gullible to believe that he is so magnanimous on the "UMNO" basis that he will not saman
And it will be so so GOOD for the public that he go ahead and Saman, then more investigations and more revelation shall be produced in court by respective party to support
