Adam charged with giving false statements

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Adam Rosly told the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) that he borrowed RM500,000 from two loan sharks to finance the purchase of his RM1.2mil house.
The Ampang PKR Youth chief also said he borrowed RM100,000 from his mother-in-law and ano-ther RM100,000 from his late grandmother.
The balance of RM500,000 was obtained from the sale of his luxury cars, his income from mana-ging a flat, as well as direct and indirect income from his businesses.
All this was to buy the high-end property, a two-and-a-half storey bungalow in Ampang, which he said was only half complete with no Certificate of Fitness and ap--proved plan.
These were part of the false statements that Adam allegedly gave to the MACC on Feb 10 in the course of an investigation into his “unusual wealth”.
Yesterday, Adam was charged at a Sessions Court here with two counts of giving false statements and four counts of providing fake documents with the intention to deceive MACC officers.
The documents are two cash vouchers and two loan agreements between Adam and a loan shark named Tan Hang Yuan, and between Adam and his late grandmother Masiah Mohd Yusof.
According to the charge sheet, Adam alle-gedly told MACC officers that he earned about RM60,000 monthly as Gegas Mentari Holding Sdn Bhd company director, RM3,000 monthly as the Pangsapuri Taman Industri Lembah Jaya management body chairman, as well as earning unfixed profits from investing in project-based business ventures by his friends.
Adam also allegedly said that he bought the bungalow for RM1.2mil in cash and not RM7mil from Public Bank in 2016, as he could not get a loan.
The 30-year-old is also accused of giving a false statement regarding the sale of luxury cars and the loan agreements.
He was said to have committed the offences at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya on Feb 10 and Feb 22.
Adam pleaded not guilty to all the charges under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
If convicted, he faces a maximum RM3mil fine or up to five years’ jail.
Sessions Court judge Allaudeen Ismail fixed RM300,000 bail in one surety and ordered the accused to surrender his passport.
The case was fixed for mention on May 29.
Adam’s family and Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin were present in the packed court room.
He was released after posting bail at 5.40pm.
Earlier, there was a short commotion when family members were seen rushing to the ATM at the court complex to raise the amount required for his bail.

bagi akak semua sama je pinjaman wang berlesen kecuali bank.. mula2 cakap lain, lambat bayar jadi bunga lain..

memang pun, pinjam ahlong mesti ada bukti bayar monthly.. along tiada ctos ccris rekod.. simbah cat, ugut, lain2 lagi itu je ctos along..rumah adam ada kena simbah cat ke? kalau ada betullah tu..
kalau xdpt delcare source money boleh kena AMLA.. akak pernah kena dulu sampai sekarang tak selesai lagi.

Macai tak boleh terima, sebab ada ahlul parti yg kununnya nak selamat kan Malaysia dari BN umngok yg kununnya kaki reshuah... Tup tup..... Partai sundri pun 2x5 ...hahahaha funny isn't it?  |
