SS501 Park Jungmin into acting
Participating in a Musical (play) in December
Releasing 2nd official album next month
Group SS501’s member, Park Jungmin (21) will start his activities as a performer (actor) after 3 years of debut as a singer.
He, who is known as the member of multi-entertainer ability and with good singing and dancing ability, will debut as a performer in a big-scale musical at the end of December. He is making his decision shortly between an overseas licensed musical and popular original musical and will start to rehearse once decided.
He had been proposed to act in musical since his debut but he had to sacrifice due to the group’s advance into Japan. Even during their activities in Japan, he was invited to perform by a musical/play-related personnel who noticed his talents but because the long-running performances clashes with the group’s schedules, his debut in the Japan Musical has also vanished.
Company’s spokesperson said that before Park Jungmin debut as a singer, he is very interested in acting and has many opportunities, he especially takes a liking to musical plays because it requires singing to go along with the performance.
SS501 will release their 2nd offfical album in the mid of next month. From December, Park Jungmin will perform in musical play, Kim HyunJoong will act in drama “Boys over flowers”, doing their individual activties. |

Male group SS501’s member, Park JungMin has been casted as “Danny”, the lead in musical “Grease”.
Park JungMin’s Company DSP Entertainment spokesperson said “Park JungMin has been wanting to get into musical plays for a long time. He has been constantly looking out for opportunities and will get to perform in musical plays at the end of this year. He had been learning about musical plays personally so look forward to him bringing a good show”
Park JungMin plays Danny, of which he had realized his long-time dream. Park JungMin had been offered to perform in a musical last summer, however he didn’t take it on due to activities in Japan. Producers of the musical considers Park JungMin’s high passion and thus made him be able to gain his “Dream Stage”.
Park JungMin will perform in musical “Grease”, which is a play that has been very popular world-wide since its debut play in America Boradway in 1972.
Being a world renowned play, Park JungMin has a high pressure acting as the lead. Starting from this month end, Park JungMin will practice for the musical for about 3 months. In order for Park JungMin to adapt to the musical play, his company generously supported him.
Park JungMin’s company revealed “Although we have planned for the release of SS501’s new album, we would take into consideration for Park JungMin to be able to concentrate on his preparation of his musical play. The members also generously encouraged and supported Park JungMin in going into musical plays.”
Park JungMin appearance in msucial “Grease” will be opened by year end, in Seoul JaYangDong NaRu Art Center.
