DEFINITION OF THE WORD TRANSLATED AS "CONSUMMATE"
In Sahih Bukhari, vol. 7, #64, the root word used is "dakhala". From the Hans-Wehr Arabic-English Dictionary p273, it means "to enter, to pierce, to penetrate, to consummate the marriage, cohabit, sleep with a woman".
When we go back to the Arabic, the meaning is very clear. There can be no other meaning other than sex in this context.

1. The full hadith translation :
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 65 Narrated 'Aisha that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that 'Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)."
This hadith clearly say about the subject matter of time frame when was Aishah RA begin to live together with the Prophet, ie from she was 9 years old and remained for 9 years. It is less logical to assume the hadith refers to sexual intercouse and then mention how long she remained with the prophet. It is more logical if we see it as the beginning of living together and remain for 9 years.
Try replacing the phrase "consummate the marriage" with "sexual intercourse", like this :

It does not make sense and the subject matter is broken in the middle, not related at all, ie first there is a mention of having sex and then how long she remain with the prophet. It is logical if it refers to when Aisha started to living together with the prophet and remained for 9 years.
2. The word dakhala has many meanings but you choose the onet hat suit your bad thought.
